You mean Project Needlemouse? That's a fan project.
I think it is actually both. The "reveal" by Sega had been called Project Needlemouse, but there's already been a fan project under the name of Needlemouse before that. Not really sure though I don't keep up with this kinda stuff.

Construct is a pretty interesting project and a lot of people seem to be liking it, but I'm surprised that nobody has yet mentioned that it has a huge downside: it is DirectX-only. This is unsuitable for anyone looking to make a popular indie game today; OS X users make up a very large if not the major portion of indie gamers.
It is open source though, so anybody is free to take Construct and make it DirectX independent. I'm also pretty sure the creators mentioned they'd eventually move away from it, but don't take my word for that. I think Construct is one, maybe two, years old so that's pretty good so far. But yeah, Windows only has neither stopped the Game Maker nor the MMF2 guys to make pretty popular games so far.

I don't know why that blue cunt Sonic is supposed to be better than Tails. Tails can do the exact same things AND can fly. And is cuter. All Sonic can do mid air is a flip thing.
Well, Sonic has some sort of force field that you could use to destroy spiked enemies (really useful against the scorpions in that desert stages) when timed correctly. Tails can do no such thing. Still, flying beats that, hands down.

I also happen to love both Gex (at least that one 3D game) and Areo the Acrobat, thank you. Sonic is the only thing I'm being a blind fan about, I'm pretty open about everything else. Also this thread is now about me defending Sonic with hollow arguments and blind fanboyism, bring it on. Although I'll be more specific and say it's Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
Well, I only ever owned Sonic 1, 2, & Knuckles as a kid, so those are the ones I have fondest memory of. Of course there was still Sonic 3 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles, which was the game you got when you plugged Sonic 3 into S&K, but I regard them all as the same game, just sold in bits, anyway. I liked the plug in feature of S&K, it was fun to play through Sonic 2 as Knuckles. I still have the Genesis and all the cartridges but my Sonic 1 cartridge ceased to function a long time ago. It was my first game I have actual memories of (but not my first game) so I shed a single tear for it every now and then. My second game was Ghostbusters.

GM users should seriously boycott GM 8. Then they'll pretty much HAVE to change it, if they want to make any money at all.
They can join the L4D2 boycotters, those sure changed things for the better.

Why won't they just let the poor bastard die.
Because with every game they release there is a misled generation of kids that still think he's awesome (they don't know any better) and buy his shit. Oh and me, I also played most of the Sonic games and loved them (and even legally own Sonic 1, Sonic 2, S&K, Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog). I'm a Sonic fanboy. I can see though why they are generally considered bad (mostly because they are). Shadow the Hedgehog is my favorite Sonic game, closely followed by Sonic Adventure 2. The original games don't count because they hold a special place in my heart and are not to be compared with other games. Anybody who says Sonic & Knuckles is a bad game might have a problem and should get his head checked, it could be serious.

I'm seeing him rubbing his fingers and saying "excellent" because he probably didn't have that high a visitor number before he announced the logo. The Internet Hate Machine does, above anything else, make people popular. If you would've asked me who Tim Langdell is before that I would've not been able to tell you.
I would not have been able to tell you who Sandy is before either.
Okay, maybe not "popular" in the classic sense but definitely well known.

Mario had pretty successful entries into the RPG genre, and hiring BioWare do to an RPG for you doesn't sound like that bad an idea. It even tries to implement these actiony bits into its battle system similar to the ones that made the Mario ones so fun.
So yeah, just saying that taking a largely action-based franchise into the RPG genre isn't that far fetched or crazy of an idea. It worked before, it just didn't work now.

I can only chime in to say that Flash is indeed a very good tool to get into "real" programming while still not having to deal with that much shit, especially when you use something like flixel of Flashpunk.
If coding is not desired however, Construct is your best and also pretty much only choice (unless you dish out the money for MMF2, but if konjak says he likes Construct then you get Construct).
But yeah, if you're moving away from Game Maker you probably had your fair share of GML already, so just go with Flash. It's what the cool and hip guys do.

I suggest you start another thread with all the vital information (location, time, link to tickets) in the first post to avoid any confusion.

Both games have been intriguing me for some time now, especially that one gaming diary of Solium Infernum. The only thing keeping me off a bit is the pretty hefty price tag on both games. I will definitely give the demos of each a try sometime though.

Probably 15 years ago, there was an arcade game I used to play at Pizza Hut. Like all arcade games from that era, it was a 2d side scroller. I always played a cowboy of sorts, because he reminded me of Crocodile Dundee, but I think there was a Native American you could play as well. There are only two aspects to the game that I remember beyond that: sometime in the first level, you could receive a power up that turned you into a wolf (or the guy you were playing could turn into a wolf), and you got a katana.
Ring any bells?
Maybe ?

Old topic is old, but I just read this and figured he should attack the person with the least damage/most health and let them "know the name of the King", that would be a fitting game reference as people with a high damage/low health already "know the name of the King".
