Yesterday broke the build - today fixed the build! (typo error - forgot to update the level names that relate to weapon upgrades)

*not really a mockup
*cough*ingame*cough*

This looks lovely - but does feel to me like it could do with a slightly expanded palette?

I have just been doing iOS icons for a game, and can recommend grabbing a screen of existing app icons (eg - http://www.apple.com/itunes/charts/paid-apps/) - and test your icon on that page against others.

i had this idea to combine makaimura + etrian odyssey + dark souls, which would result in the ultimate unforgiving game with one billion equipment and princesses kidnapped by red demons inside a tree labyrinth

these are just some weapons / ideas / whatever

whatever oho oho ho ho oho hu hu h uhuah
Cute! Don't know why but I see the knights head as an onion  Grin

a "Nintend-U"! that way they can later have a "Super Nintend-U" - "Nintend-U 1024" etc etc

Agreed, that's very cute but both the hands and ears needs some more work I think.

His/her left arm flicks back too fast, needs an intermediate arm position I reckon. And the ears look like he/she is banging the head against a wall, rather than flopping equally left and right.

'WiiHD'? - too obvious??

Gameplay video looks pretty fun - lots of things flying all over the place.

Some of the art looks VERY much like a PS3/PSP game I made the art for called 'Gravity Crash', most specifically the player ship:

...with a quick tweaky-tweak.
His top/back is a bit iffy still. Leg lighting a bit twitchy too.

I'd like to know why so many people make bipedal things pivot that drastically. Almost no one walks with that much gangster-ness/swagger in the their movement.

Unless I and close to everyone else I've seen walks wrong. But then again, I live in America.
You are right - the poor thing would end up with terrible neck ache in reality.

With this robot, before it had no swing and it looked too rigid to me, so I over-exaggerated I think because it is a cartoony looking robot (and this helps give it more character for something that is just 16x16).

Also its quite slow, so a swagger seems to suit it. If it were running fast then it would make sense to tilt the head down and give it very little turning if any.

Hope that explains a bit how it ended up.

Dugan, teach me how to make amazing mechs.
Haha - thanks. Glad you like them, I just see the mistakes.

Dugan's Aqua Kitty

Kittens must defend against sea creeps while they drill the ocean floor for milk.

Could I request a re-photographing of this awesome picture, it looks a bit out of focus Sad

Yeah I agree with Paul, the Unstoppable Gorg trailer looks pretty stupid. I enjoy the Isaac trailer though.

Probably my favourite indie game trailer in recent memory was the Sword and Sworcery one:

I love the way they kept it mysterious, sparked your interest, and implied that the release date was on the next equinox.

That trailer is great - makes me want to buy an iPad just for that game.

Latest small update - now the ship roll is coded in! Its just 1 frame up and down additional to the normal side facing but does the trick.

Am planning to do a nicer video showing the game at the end of the month once we get some more odds and ends tidied up.
