Thanks for testing.
I agree that blowing up buildings is more fun.
We'll make that a more central part of gameplay (in a different game) once we've improved performance there.
As for the mouse control ... dunno, it's a tank after all.

Mouse control is sluggish

Significant slowdown with >5 explosions at once on Radeon 9250 P4 1.61ghz w/ 768MB ram

Blowing up you own buildings is more fun than shooting down bombers, more of a visceral thrill.

We just finished a new release of "enelin7". Now at 0.8.

http://proj.phk.at/el/7/

It's a 3d shooter where you defend a city against waves of enemy bombers.
You can blow holes in certain enemies and the enemy will do the same
to your city.

The game is meant to be a small diversion and a testbed for our
code.

Feedback wanted: Besides general feedback we are interested to hear how
it works on different systems.
The range of hardware/OS/driver we can test it on ourselves is somewhat
limited so we'd like to know what issues there still are.

Thanks and have fun.

Hi,

Name is Raphael.
I've posted here before for the procedural content competition but haven't officially introduced myself.
my stuff can be found at http://proj.phk.at/el/.
I'm into procedural and 3d stuff ... c++/opengl.

in terms of games i grew up with i'm mostly inspired by the sense of wonder got when exploring all the quirky titles on public domain/freeware/shareware discs of amiga and dos days.

I also hang out on the irc channel with this nick.

Yeah I guess the ammo system might be a bit confusing.
I'll try to add some more feedback for it.
Thanks for the feedback.

Hi,

kinda new here too.

felt like getting something quick done so i wrote a little entry for this competition.

it's called enelin10 and can be found at
http://proj.phk.at/el/10/

it's an abstract topdown shooter.
3d wireframe graphics and 2d gameplay.

the enemies are procedurally generated from various segments that define their behaviour.
the map layout, tasks and some decoration parts are generated as well.

current version is 0.7
updated v0.7 contains tips, ammo feedback and is a bit easier

Hope you like it.
