You might want to try contacting Ikiki. A majority of his games would be absolutely fantastic in an arcade setting, and would mean really big Hand Money Leftcash moneyHand Money Right for you.

As any readers of the "suggest compo ideas" thread know, Derek seems to be edging towards making a versus-themed compo. If that does happen, you'd get a crop of nice versus games.

I really need more Versus titles, so this is good.

versus games?

here are a few Wink

Charlie Knight (Charlie's Games guy. Made Bullet Candy and such) has thrown his support into the project.

HAHAHA GREAT!  Beer!
blinking food, funny vehicles and one player's bullets do propel the other player into the air!
game has to be seen in action...  Wink
(maybe consider to make a short little trailer)

ok exclusivity might play a bigger role than i thought...
i havent run an arcade yet so my experience is a bit limited in that area Wink
you said that marvel vs capcom 2 is successful and shmups not.
for that matter consider to add a nice beat em up...

havent thought too much about all the details, demographics and variable factors so you might be right with not having such cards.
anyway, you said exclusive...
beside exclusive content you might also manage to work together with a dev and then release a whole game that is exclusively available at your upcoming place. Wink
187  Player / Games / Re: Seattle Indie Arcade Needs a Name! (And Games!) on: November 30, 2010, 10:58:20 AM
you could also make some nice looking 3x5 cards that list all the indie games available in the arcade!
that way people can check out the games at home afterwards  Smiley

playing in an arcade or playing at home is completely different.
the added social component + the atmosphere + hi score competitions  etc sets it apart.
if your upcoming arcade would be in my area i would visit it and pay to play the games there (even though i have already played them all you know)

and well of course people want to know the names of the games.
give them what they want.
this makes the whole thing also more shareable you know.
visitors can tell their friends more easily what kind of games they have played there.
instead of "eehhhm.... dont know what to say cause i forgot "

now imagine the same scenario when one guy has all the names of the games on the little 3x5 card (with added tiny screenshots and short description)
it might go like this:

guy: "oh well you know... theres this fast paced arcade platform shooter called super crate box blabla...check out these delicious graphics!
oh and theres also this game called blabla etc..."
friend: "...lets see. spelunky...great! i know that game. haha great idea to play it in an actual arcade cabinet. dont know the other games.
well i have to visit that place for sure!"

moreover:
consider to speak to indie devs who have released commercial games and ask them if it would be possible to have their creations in the arcade as well.
for example bullet candy perfect, irkukandji, scoregasm (charlies games) and ultratron, droid assault, titan attacks (puppy games) would be great additions i think.

i have seen it here in the forums somewhere and remember watching the trailer.
(i have searched for tanks but havent found it yet... maybe the game hasnt tank in the title?)

Normal tanks? Digitanks?
no it was another game...

Atom Zombie Smasher
(Win, Mac, Linux)

New game by the developer of the stylish first person espionage game Gravity Bone and RTS game Flotilla.
http://blendogames.com/atomzombiesmasher/

The game was already mentioned briefly in february 2009 when there wasnt much info about it...

Quote
Atom Zombie Smasher is a tactical strategy game set during the peak of the 1961 zombie apocalypse. Take your mercenaries to infested cities and evacuate their populations as Zed outbreaks flood the streets.  Plan rescue operations and take to battle with your crew of snipers, demolition experts, and research teams.  And when in doubt, always count on your orbital nuclear battlestation.

- Procedurally-generated campaigns - no two playthroughs are the same.
- Fully destructible environments - raze the cities as you please.
- Cooperative multiplayer - up to three people can play together.

Well well… The Big Video Project is finally here!
Let’s create something awesome together: Big videos purely made of 6 sec video clips of indie games!
Ideally this will become some sort of Reference Video that could be shown to anyone who wants to dive into the fantastic world of Indie Games.

Let’s do it:

1. Record a 6 sec gameplay clip of any commercial indie game you want. (Can be from any system. Either demo or full version)
2. Send the clip to Pixel Prospector and mention the system and the name of the game in the subject line of the mail (eg “PC / Droid Assault”)
3. There are about 200 prizes so you have a good chance to win one (or more) when the video appears in the compilation video.
(Optionally you can also record a longer video and upload it to YouTube as well…
this would be nice but this is not a must)

Don’t know how to record a gameplay video? No problem! This guide will definitely help you:

he probably just hasn't had the opportunity to gather all the links and fix the list yet
exactly Wink

This list sux pretty much without even small description of each game, or link to homepage.
if you want to help out you can collect the links and send them to me (maybe also add what kind of genre the game is...that would be helpful indeed)

a few links are already provided on the pp page though.

->i have only 56k currently... so yeah stuff is a bit tricky Wink
