Yes. Best physics engine, subatomic resolution, a color palette beyond spanning across and beyond visual perception, and characters and story lines that are a glory to behold. It is one of my favorites. Literally. Back to topic. I was from the buckle of the Bible belt, but now I live in Taipei County, Taiwan and probably will continue to for a few more years before finding a town to settle down into back in the States: in California, maybe. I'm not 100% sure, since I'm still working on my Seldon-esque plan.

Yes, I feel the pain, too. I really like that it's a blue hat. Edit: With what I've read about Deus Ex in the slight mists and fogs of my past, I have to agree with Cheater's comment below. With that said, I prefer to read the ends of books before I finish reading them. Similarly, I find nothing wrong with reviews, FAQ's, or walkthroughs of games. When used correctly, such devices are among the necessary medicine for an ailing industry. I should also add that the PS1 was the main reason (besides playing FF X with my brother [Post Edit: Oops, silly Roman numerals vs. inebriated memories of XII. For those of you who read the incorrect description: we finished X, but I didn't finish XII.] on his first gen PS2 years ago only to realize a game can be greater than a movie if it contains the correct personal connections, which was one of the catalysts of my current presence), I have collected too many PS1 that I'm still waiting to play on my PS2. I'm also too old school, but I'm also a little more than a player branching into dreams his childhood dreams.

Dear Brandon,
Sometimes I buy a small bag of Trail Mix from the snack machine at work. It has raisins, walnuts, peanuts, almonds and sunflower seeds. It's a really nice middle-of-the-day snack. However, a lot of the time, the sunflower seeds, which are my least favorite part of the trail mix, sink to the very bottom because they are the smallest, and by the time I get to the last few bites, it's all sunflower seeds. Why is life so unfair?
Ivan
If you have issues with sharing or wasting. Turn the bag upside down and shake it every time the sunflower seeds are sinking too much to the bottom for your liking. In case you really didn't know or were joking, they are sinking because they have the least ratio of friction over surface area. Мир был создан треской или - там другой тип рыбы, которая могла быть ответственна?
It could be both. Dear Brandon
If entropy is increasing over time, why is it things get more depressingly predictable every day?
yours questioningly,
Titch
Maybe chaos theory or quantum physics can answer that. Dear Brandon,
I feel I am slowly slipping away into mainstream gaming. What should I do?
When I have trouble finding the answer, I try to find the middle way. Swim to shore, build a bridge over the mainstream, and get a net large enough to rescue what you believe to be worth saving.

I can pronounce both TIGer, Tiger, and Tigger in my head as /tIgər/, and it's not because I try to do my text messaging with the best grammar I know how to use on such a limited device. In other words, I'm a little more international than the average native speaker of English. I had and have to study this stuff (English) too much, and this is the quickest way I could respond in this thread before I opened to many tabs in my browser only to never reply by the time I was done opening tabs and reading too much of everything. I still can't decided if I prefer TIGer or Tigger. Maybe we could ask the person to whom Cheater is referring which that person would prefer? Interesting fact: TIGer was actually born because someone forgot the site was called TIG Source, so TIG err-. THE MORE YOU KNOW. Sorry, I have a research background, but I haven't bothered to learn forum etiquette. However, references are supposed to always go after what one is writing, and the internet is making it harder for professors to teacher their students how to write. I hope this post is a good compromise for all the teachers and professors I ever had and the students out their reading it. My apologies good sir: [citation needed]I'm sorry. I've been through several bad months recently, I'm coming out of a life changing month that felt like a soul journey, and I didn't mean to take it out on you. I should have PMed what I was thinking to you. There's no need for you to apologize. I need to stop being a teacher when I get home, and these sort of mistakes I made are not what my lower/middle class upbringing hasn't prepared me for as well as I had hoped. Besides, I believe in prescriptive grammar (which is trying to understand the contemporary evolutions of English) more than the rules descriptive grammar sticks to, but they are both useful.

Just a note: I started a contest to create a campaign in the level editor -- winner gets a free copy of my next game and an option to have their custom campaign included with the game if they would like that. No deadline yet, but I'm thinking January 1 or something. The level editor requires the full version (for now), so it's open only to the few of you who bought the game. Hopefully even one person enters, haha.
Good thinking there rinku. May I call you that? If so, you may call me ith if you like. I've downloaded the demo, because the vidoe and now the contest have piqued my interest so well.

This poll would likely have different results if one couldn't view the results so far until it was closed. Because otherwise people can switch to the favorite that looks viable 'so far', which skews towards the opinions of the early voters. Effect doesn't matter as much if you're choosing ten themes, but if you can only choose one it's probably significant.
Seconded.

The computer I'm using during my office hours and during my lunch break only has an integrated Intel 82810E with a whopping 4 MB of video RAM. After updating the drivers and DirectX, it's ok at playing Youtube videos, but it can barely play many videos from Vimeo (as long as it's not HD).

Fix random.
Don't force me to put everything into an exe. If I'm providing a free game, I want to allow it to be edited as much as possible, since I like play with games as much as I enjoy playing them. If the graphics, sound effects, music, etcetera of a game don't suit ones taste, one should be free to change them. If their are files external to the exe that can be changed or replaced, this is the easiest way to provide such freedom. There definitely should be an option to put everything into an executable, but it shouldn't be the only option.
GM seems to have some weird memory problems. I was using sounds to test its randomness, and I kept getting the same sound. Part of it was because I was trying to get a return from 0-3, and a probable part of the problem was that I wasn't wise enough to the ways of GM, but I kept getting "Zero, zero, zero, ..." (I was relying entirely on the prebuilt features instead of using GML). After I deleted the "Zero" wave file from my hard drive (I might have only edited the sounds to be loaded in GM instead of deleting the "Zero" file, and I've reformatted since then) and changed the range of the random form 1-4 with corresponding sounds for each number, I still had "Zero" playing over and over again through my headphones. I then gave up. I didn't care if I or GM was doing something wrong, and I went in a new direction.
Disclaimer: these are just my first impressions with software I had expected to not to have to find work arounds. In other words, I'm a complete novice.

Instead of adding more levels before level 1, you could add an new easy setting that has 2 check points to each level. Then you could change the current easy to normal. That's the quickest fix I could think of.
Could you add some alternative jump buttons. If I press shift too many times per second, Windows gets confused and pops some notification in Chinese (office pc). I think it was effecting the double jump, too. The kitten died a few times because the double jump didn't seem to register.

One Dragon
Backstory: A one dragon factory or one dragon company is a business in China that makes all the parts necessary to create a product. If they are making cellphones, they make the screen, the casing, the interface, the circuitry, the battery, the firmware (if they can't simply copy it), etc. So, I envision a logo might say something like "A One Dragon Game" with screenshots spewing out of a dragon's mouth like fire. It would be fitting for an indie developer or publisher, but it would be a little obscure.

Yes, that happens some times. It also happens with some games in Feedback. It's good that they're also helping to promote indie gaming.

D'y'think, someday, we might be able to get a "National Game Making Month" (NaGaMaMo) happening? Except that it would be international, of course. There's the Super Game Bakedown: Super Game Bakedown is a new game development event to get people from around the world set out to design, develop, and complete a videogame in one month. Your job is to make the games. Our job is to help. We certainly could promote the Bakedown a little more in the forums. A yearly, month-long competition that lets you make anything you want and only limits your development time would be useful to some people.
