The problem actually isn't any particular software package so much as the PNG spec itself.

Basically, PNG has this insane misfeature where it tries to adapt its appearance to the display device you're using. As a result, every time you load a PNG in a new environment and then save it again you get a bit of colour distortion. People generally don't notice due to the fact they work in the same environment all the time.

Yeah.. next time: JPG

Only if you don't know how the parameters work...
True dat, I don't understand most of the sliders at all.

97 sounds in their original .sfs format. Some were inspired by random sounds but I don't think any of them are purely random.
Nice.. Quite a few surprises for me (didn't expect some of these sounds to be possible via sfxr).

sfxr - as3sfxr

So what's the best sound effect(s) you ever made using sfxr?

Use http://www.mediafire.com, http://opengameart.org or http://box.net for uploading. (wow, it's so annoying to find a good .wav host..)

The random button owns, everything else produces bad cheese only.. here are my best results:
flash preview: http://www.box.net/shared/k578yrvjhd - 7z: http://www.box.net/shared/kldze88vru - cc0
the sounds are bubbles, cartoony falling, computer sounds, warning sirens, explosions..

I never knew how to afford that indie game or how to afford an indie game.

Now I know! Pixel 1A

I feel like I want to * reality because I need to post this image it is not possible without because there would be no result as big as when I do post the image literally speaking I MUST POST THAT IMAGE also warning spoiler alert by the way because that image is a spoiler but not really.

ImageShack will probably delete this image if I do not include this link I think but I am not sure but why risk it this can't possibly take more than half an hour to add am I right or am I right that's right.

Hello, I am trying to get some inspiration for drawing spider web textures and it appears incredibly hard to google anything with "web" in it.. And usually webs are just decoration, so hardly anybody would call his screenshot "spider web in World of Warcraft" or so.. So I would like to create a mood/style board here.

Would you be so kind to give me names of games and locations in these games where spider webs can be found? I will be able to do some refined google searches and add more spider web screens then. Screenshots of spider webs in games are welcome too of course. Smiley

Hope you can help or find this gallery interesting!

I got an interesting piece of spam today:

Hello,
I am  Patricia Tommi. I am 24 years old. From Ivory Coast. I saw your  profile at (forums.tigsource.com). I think i will appreciate your friendship. Could you please contact me at this my e-mail address ([email protected]) for my picture and more information about me. Note: colour, distance or age is no barrier to friendship.
Patricia.

Interesting part is that the spam wasn't sent to the e-mail I've actually got listed here.

Me too me too! :D (to the email listed here however)

I'm requesting an explosion sound effect creation tutorial. I know only of one, only one!

PS: oh silly me, I already requested that and totally forgot about it. Well, this one is more specific at least.
73  Developer / Audio / Re: Fun idea: Browser-Based Ambient Music Generator! on: August 27, 2009, 05:43:15 PM
What about a flash/java-based application running in a browser that simply generates moody, ambient music?
I don't see why it has to be in-browser. Why not let such a generator play in the background?

If you install pd, you can try out the Lost in Translation umm... sound scape generator. Maybe it's something you'd like.

Francois contacted me, asking for copies the two talks I recorded.

OGG/Vorbis file format

Haden/Unity3D: http://www.box.net/shared/00nmk60tqi (6.7 MB)
Alex/Free time game development: http://www.box.net/shared/q05c08pjyu (22.3 MB)

Unfortunately, Alex's presentation recording is of horrible quality Sad I tried to start writing it down, but probably won't be able to finish this with my pair of ears: http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=ddk4ghbn_4fwb4g9r2 help would be appreciated (just pm/email [email protected] the text passage and tell me what time frame it covers and I'll add it to the document and mention your help)

Croissant
Grin all screens can be seen here (um, spoiler alert).

Concerned Nuns (or some other lame name like "Nuncerner"):

Me (sounds, little programming), chrisjan (programming that mattered) and ptoing (awe-some pixels!)

Made for the "Concerned Nuns Squad" jam (Day II). Unfortunately, we didn't manage to get the "Squad" part in. It's playable!

If you have LÖVE (mac/lin/win) on your computer, get the .love file. If you don't want to get LÖVE, I created this Win32 exe in a zip (run nuns.exe).

This version has been altered after the competition

Rouge Bull Bombardment!

On the first strawberry jam of the third day of BIG ("random" and/or "communist bull rage") , I programmed this and added sounds.

C418 made a nice march for me! I used a freely available font and freely available sprites.

Get the .love file, you can drag&drop it on the love.exe from the nuns.zip above or get LÖVE (mac/lin/win) to execute it..

A bit more details on it's homepage. Now I'm tinkering with it to make it actually worth executing.

Another jar of jam was proposed. Surprising but makes sense. Supposedly it will start in 46:12 minutes
