I'd be grateful if anyone wants to do a TIGSource meetup outside of the PAX halls. You know, for those few of us who live here but don't have tickets.

Hey, wow it's great to see there's so many cool people in the area. Sorry I haven't really kept up on this topic, I've been sort of avoiding TIGS lately.
Vancouver is on my agenda, I think I'll plan a trip up there around one of those meetups, because that sounds awesome. Hopefully I'll have something neat to show people by the time that comes around. Maybe that'll even help motivate me to work harder.
Since it seems there's quite the decent number of us, would anyone be interested in holding some sort of meetup? The Seattle Indies Expo(via seattleindies.org) looks neat, but also like it's relatively unconfirmed to be happening any time soon, so perhaps we could organize something ourselves? TIGJam Seattle?(that might be a bit much haha) I dunno.

Community / Townhall / Announcing "Ether Souls"

Hey all you 's. I've been hard at work on my next project lately, named "Ether Souls", and today I'm excited(and perhaps even more nervous) to announce that I'll be blogging its entire development process on a tumblr right here. If you find the project interesting, please do give my blog a follow. There is also RSS available for those of you who don't use tumblr.(you could also just bookmark it, whatever)
| On the blog I will talk about the development of the game and my thoughts on its design. It is a window into my brain for while I work. You'll be able to ask me questions(to which I will answer), and from time to time I will host special giveaways/promotions for those keeping up with my blog. | Ether Souls is an action platformer with a focus on interesting, unique mechanics that melds concepts of exploration, survival, intense combat, and perfectionism. It carries with it a grim, brooding incongruous narrative set in an open world of the surreal, the horrific, and the fantastical. |

In my next game I'm going to add Paul Eres as a player character.
He has only one ability and it's called "auto-reflect"--Every attack thrown at him is automatically redirected back at the enemy, and a text blip pops up containing one of the following phrases: "Strawman Reposte", "Irrelevant Analogy Burst", "Obscure Contrarian Counterpoint Beam", or "Pedantic Theoretical Exception Volley".

Furthermore, Nintendo devkits hold with them the most infamy for being a bitch to work with. So I hear. Also devkits are expensive, right?

It sucks that Suda gets all the trash for this. Did he really decide on every single element of the game?

Could be a neat game.
Looks like you need more mechanics though. In its current state the game looks a bit like a boring tower defense.
