Thanks! A couple lines are too long:

Banda sonora de alta qualidade

Only up to about ".. sonaro de" is visible. I know it's not much space but can you make it fit?

And the other:

Transferência grátis da banda sonora de alta qualidade

Maybe 8-10 characters have to be removed.

EDIT: I have Spanish done now too. Thanks.

I have a little bit of text I've added to my game post-translation that I need to get translated. Can anyone help out? I need: Greek, Italian, Polish, Portuguese and Spanish. It needs to be compact (about the same length on screen as the English or less) and it has to be in UTF8 encoding. Here's a link you can download:

http://trent.gamblin.ca/tmp/translate.utf8

Or right here:

Code:
/*

and all contents?
Can only download
over wifi.
Note: you can back out of the tutorial at any time by pressing the cancel button.^It's the red triangle in the top left corner of the screen.^
*/

Some notes: Integer scaling means scaling by integer factors, like 2x, 3x etc. Any weird symbols should be kept in place (like the {027} and ^ etc. HQ stands for High Quality. Any other questions I can answer.

I can offer you a copy of the game (http://www.monster-rpg.com) or $5 via paypal for your efforts. No google translate though! Tongue

Thanks!

Thanks, we found someone.
204  Hidden / Unpaid Work / Needed RPG mini game music composer - shared pay on: January 25, 2012, 12:00:15 PM
Hello,

One of our composers responsible for mini game music resigned today due to having to much university work. Our game is an action RPG in mid-stages of development. I can give applicants much more info about the game but we're trying to avoid leaking much information now.

I need someone to fill the place. Right now there is just 1 song in the queue. There will be more. Some may not be mini game stuff but it won't be "main score" type stuff. I want someone who can match the style of the previous composer. He used pxtone, and I would prefer someone who can continue to use that. Examples of music already composed are available by request from applicants.

We are a team of 6 people now, with you it will be 7. We're doing profit sharing upon game release, and we can discuss that if you apply. Please include some samples of your music if you apply. Feel free to PM also. If you have other questions please ask!

Thanks!
Trent

Some people and I finished a new game for iOS (now also ported to PC/Mac) a week ago or so. It's a action puzzler with some physics involved called Bobby. I'm happy to share a video with you:

There's a free version with 20 levels on http://www.nooskewl.com, that version should be coming to iOS soon.

If you play it let me know what you think!

207  Jobs / Offering Paid Work / Need Dutch beta tester for RPG (~10 hours) on: July 13, 2011, 09:48:54 AM
Hello. I need a Dutch speaking person to test a new Dutch translation of my game. The person who translated the game cannot run the game because of lack of hardware acceleration. You can test on Windows, Mac, Linux, or iOS, your choice.

The game can take up to 20 hours to play for a new player, but if you use the strategy guide on the wiki (http://www.monster-rpg.com/wiki/) it should take no more than 6-10 hours.

We can discuss payment. What I offered to the translators is 100% of profits from the region which they translated for. So I would offer you 100% of the profits from the Netherlands (and if there are any other countries that speak a lot of Dutch, 50% from those). Now this may not be very much so I changed the deal to "100% of profits from the most profitable translated region". So if the game sells $5 in the Netherlands and $20 in France, you would get $20, as would everyone involved with this translation effort.

** EDIT: The part I forgot to mention here is that you'd get paid for 3 months, not just once.

If you're still reading and interested, please get back to me! I would optimally like this to be finished ASAP. The original plan was to release the game update on August 1st, but due to health issues I have to delay that a little. So I would say the deadline for testing would be August 1st.

Now about your duties. This is not a game beta test. If you wish to provide feedback about the game itself or bugs you find with the game code, then those are appreciated. However, all you are required to do is test the accuracy of the translation, and perhaps most important, that there are no out-of-bounds errors with the text. By that I mean that sometimes when translating, a line of text could be longer in Dutch than in English and go over the length of the box or section it's in. I would expect you to note all such instances and send me a report about it. Grammar and spelling issues are also important and I would expect you to send me those in the report as well.

I think that's all I have to say for now. I hope I can find someone who is interested! Oh, and you will also get testing credits for the game. About the game, it's a moderately successful RPG that has done fairly well on iOS and is now available on other platforms. It is not making huge money anymore and that is why the pay for this job is based on profits from the game.

Thanks,
Trent

I'd like to nominate Indies4Indies, a great sound studio who also do localization and translation (not just text but voice work too), they're great guys. I myself can handle Korean and have ppl who may be able to do Jpnese.

Hi there. I don't think this game has a budget big enough other than "grab some other enthusiasts on a forum and put them in the credits", but we're working on a big game that we want translated to Korean and Japanese. Just for future considerations, can you give me some idea of a price for a large RPG, what kind of time it takes, what sort of format you prefer the text in? There would be no voice work required just text translation. Thanks. PM me if you prefer.

Sure thing!

To try and give you an idea of the time investment, if you have good ideas, you could probably finish this in an hour or two. I think it takes a somewhat artistic person to design levels and I've hit a wall of no ideas myself (I'm a lowly, uncreative programmer).
212  Jobs / Offering Paid Work / Very simple level design (20x12 grid) on: June 18, 2011, 11:27:01 AM
I need someone to design 25 levels for a game. The levels are writtin in 20x12 text files with about 15 possible different symbols for different game elements. I have about 30 levels now, I need 50, and I'm asking for 25 so I can have some to throw away so we only keep the best levels. It's a 2d side view game. I'll want the person to sign a quick NDA. I will give you a somewhat crippled Windows version of the game where you can test your levels. I was thinking of paying someone $50 for the work. I have a lot of beginner/easier levels done and I want them to sort of trend toward being harder. Therefore I'd like you to make good use of all of the different game elements, as many of the earlier levels don't use them. I'd need the work done in about 1 week. Please email me [email protected] if you're interested or want more information. Thanks!

Swedish translator seems to have given up, lost interest, or disappeared. Would welcome another Swedish translator!

Actually he has resurfaced now.

I'm going to call that it folks. At least for this revision. If any latecomers come by with new languages to translate to, maybe we can work them into the next-next update, but that's a few months down the road. For everyone who is translating, if I didn't mention, I'd like to have all of the translations in by the middle of July so we can make an August 1st release. Now I will prepare versions of the game binary that include all of the new languages, so you don't have to edit a "Polish" translation :D. Thanks.

Hello again. I have a Dutch translator and he's finished his first draft. There's a problem though. The game uses OpenGL and it runs really slowly on his computer. If anyone here would like to split the job with him, all you'd have to do is basically test the game and make minor corrections as they come up when you're playing. Let me know if you're interested!

Wow, I'm really pleasantly surprised at how many people have responded! Thank you all!

FuzzWarrior: I have someone for the European French translation, if that doesn't work out then I will PM you! Thanks!

I said French is covered but I could use a France/European French translation as well. The translator I have is doing a Canadian French translation.

Oh, I could use a Portuguese translation. I will PM you.
