World War III Eternal War Across Dimensions RTS is a casual, crazy RTS. Tanks fight against unicorns. Dragons fly with fighters and spaceships. Space marines allied with elves fight steampunk, time traveling gentlemen and trained tigers. The Story: In the Age of Calm, a global period of a great depressions, civil wars, and crises, a Dimensional Rift intersects, bringing in nations from other dimensions and attracting back nations from space who fled Earth earlier. The Dimensional Rifts became commonplace, providing magic in the world, resulting in the coexistence of magic and futuristic technology. For some reason, this alternate universe resists having the Earth destroyed by Doomsday weaponry... and the most effective weapon that affect history are nuclear bombs... Gameplay: The RTS has a high focus on Alliances. Once you are allied with a certain nation, you have access to its special units for your arsenal. There is a World Map for Campaigns. Economy is based on trading, and it is automatic, based on the number of allies and territory you have. The RTS will be largely macromanagement, but some nations lend themselves to micromanagament. There may be a hotseat multiplayer for the turn-based part of the Campaign. Current Units:

But it pretty much has all the basic enemies. I'm still trying to decide if I should make it into a touch screen based controls or keyboard based one. Current Features: Formations(1 out of 4) Enemies(archers,knights,ornithopters,cannons,catapults...) To Do: Powerups Superweapons More Enemies Bosses A Lives System More RTS things

I tried to play the game but I don't understand what is happening, and your help screen does not work. I saw a lot of red puppets walking with strings and I would cut them by drawing a string with mouse, but I don't understand how a red puppet would become a yellow/white puppet. The game is not intuitive, so some instructions would be appreciated.
Yup, its still a VERY EARLY demo. XD

Basically, you are in a steampunk-ish whitespace universe where a Master Hand-inspired Puppeteer rules. Somehow, the Puppets can cut off their strings(with the help of your Mouse, of course) and revolt. Known Bugs: Sometimes, the mouse-cutting thingy doesn't work. :/ Planned: Puppeteer Boss Sequences Puppets with Guns Zombie Puppets Mech Puppets Faster Gameplay

An example of this would be Rise Of Nations games and Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds. It is like Civilization plus Age of Empires. Basically there is a world map and players can move units into one section to another, but when fighting, the players can zoom in into a more tactical view. Warzone 2100 is another example, but with less grand strategy.
I would like to incorporate this into my game, but I would like some opinions.
1. How do you feel about auto-battle computing? (So you don't have to fight the battle yourself)
2. How should units be deployed into the battlefield? Dropships or something else?
3. Since my game is more combat based, what is your opinion of handling all resources harvesting in a home base? In other words, you can't build every structure in every battlefield, but only in your home base.
4. Should the world map be in real time? Your enemy can be fighting another battle in another part of the world map while you can opt to fight another one simultaneously elsewhere.
5. What do you think of AI assistants fighting a battle for you or assisting you? They would automate resource gathering, or even combat if you choose.
6. Do you prefer squads or individual infantry?
7. What do you think of grand strategy in RTS games in general?

Researching effective RTS storytelling and AI. Version 0.2 coming soon!
The Storyteller Medium sets "encounters" in campaigns, which are story-gameplay(storyplay?) moments. Some encounters are epic, some are subtle. Simply(in GML code): with obj_AI if player_is_looking() do_something_cool(); else do_something_smart();
to put it bluntly. More details to follow.

Game Jolt DownloadVoices a sound-only game There are many voices in this world. Silence them.  This screenshot is for tutorial purposes only.  Self-explanatory Use your mouse to "shoot" the voices. In the tutorial you can "see" the voices and your mouse. But in-game, its all a black screen. The closer your mouse is to the voice, the louder it is. Sound needs to be turned on! Surround sound recommended.
