mokes: I didn't misunderstand, just stating my opinion on actual secret characters.
To unlock Quote, you must first collect all 121 stars then collect the 1-UP on the left side of the drawbridge, fly up to Liero and get the 100 1-UPs and triple jump, go to the courtyard and enter blah blah blah over-used Luigi in Mario 64 rumor goes here

prof: Battle Clash and Metal Combat: Falcon's Revenge aren't 3D- I don't know how to code in 3D and would not even consider doing something I'm sure I can't do on my computer (such as running 3D modeling software). The idea was to make the game a 2D first person game- sort of an on-rails experience like Lethal Enforcer or Sunset Riders or whatnot. Sadly, my only experience with coding was a short platforming thing I tried to do for the CPB compo, but never released even a demo of it due to self-discouragement. I IMAGINE I could do something with that knowledge- replacing the player character with a cross hair, but then the cross hair would be controlled with the arrow keys and I wouldn't know where to go from there, I think. Are you... offering?

I, personally, identify Pixel with Ikachan more than I do with Cave Story- probably because I played and finished the former before the latter. I'll admit, even if we get permission, I don't see Ikachan being a fighter character, but maybe more of a TIGBox possibility. We could, however, have an underwater cavern with a crashed space-ship in the background as a stage to replace the one we lost, should we get permission. It was just an idea and a suggestion, Soulliard, but I can see us moving on from here regardless. Things will probably pick up after the Cockpit-compo and the LoFi RPG thing. Why do I get this mental image of Ip sneaking into the spotlight triumphantly?
Not a bad idea, actually. I think it would be a disservice to The Underside to simply make Ip a Quote clone, though. Judging from the latest videos, his fighting style will be pretty distinct, and based more around melee weapons. I do think he will be a good character, though. Nobody ever said anything about making Ip a Quote clone, though. I just see a lot of possibilities with Ip, should the Underside be released soon. If we make anyone a secret character, it should be Balding.

Egads, I'm slightly torn on where to go now.
a) I'm still missing a programmer. b) I'm now worried that for showing people my templates, they'll expect my game to look decidedly more retro (or flat shaded) than I meant to. Also, now I kind of want to use sketches instead.
Drat.
I think I'll sleep this self-sabotage off. Hopefully my mental mind-rays will fish me a coder.

Welp, I'm gonna go have me a delicious wrap made. Maybe someone can suggest some food that anybody could pick up from a Walmart and possibly not spoil after, say, two weeks uncooked? Noms.

Mine as well. Unless we're talking, you know, angle-wise.
...
I wouldn't recommend it.

Question: If I have an idea, but no means to create it, can I still make a thread, but just say 'I need some way to actually MAKE THIS, though. ', or should I stick around in here? I have an idea, but it would slow down my Trilby spriting. Hrm.
Choices.
Edit: I have a couple of ideas, but should I really make a topic if all I'm probably gonna put in them are concept art and sprites? I don't think I have time to program anything fancy with school on my heels.
You should. Who knows, maybe somebody would help out.

I may or may not be speaking from experience.
Well, if I was the only one who screwed up, I'd just go out and admit it. As it stands, though, I'm not allowed to say that the other 50% (i.e.- her side) of that story is true, probably because it's mildly embarrassing. On Feb 14th in South Korea, the girls buy guys chocolate. On March 14th, the guys buy girls chocolate. On April 14th, those that didn't receive any chocolate eat black noodles alone. (These are all true, check Wikipedia.)
B-... But it's only tradition, right? You can choose NOT to eat the black noodles... right?

"I love you" creeped me out, and isn't that the real meaning of Valentine's day?
If you're not in a relationship, sometimes! I'm sure all the boys and girls today dream of their creepy stalker sniffing their mail-box after they receive their heart-shaped-stale-cookie-confections and/or competition indie games. (I don't know why they would sniff a mailbox for the latter) If you're in one, though, it's a little harder to creep one another out. It is, however, the perfect day to realize 'oh shit, I'd better do something before he/she wakes up to surprise him/her'. It's more funny when the same thought occurs to both parties and they end up awkwardly making breakfast for each other, then trying to sneak away from one another to buy a last minute present and pretend it was in a hiding place all along. I may or may not be speaking from experience.

Boris needs to read John Dies at The End, and if he ends up disliking it, then he can continue down his surly road of... surliness.
Peevish should make a "Choose your own adventure, dillhole" adventure game. Perhaps, in it, the player character should at one moment be encouraged to examine his neck, only to find a vital tool for an extremely obscure puzzle. Puzzle may or may not involve dicks or starving chinese orphans.
Peevish may disregard this suggestion as 'much too silly and self-referential even by his own standards'.
