I might start today if school and my birthday allows. I may have relatives and friends visiting (or maybe not), and I may be inclined to play more than to create.

Beer! It's now legal for me to pretend to be this icon.

Kekskiller: It's something that ZShare implemented recently. It'll stop you from going to files on their website until you allow them with your pop-up/ad blocker of choice.

Sucks, but, you know, I guess they need it?

I guess that answers my question as to what happens in the bad ending, prof. dead. Roll Eyes

That aside, I don't think anyone really needs to know in particular, but I beat Pathways, Jump on Mushrooms: The Game, and Signifier relatively recently.

Good times, good times. SPOILERS

Gahhh, Javet. I used a mix of Audacity and Finale Reader to make an MP3 for the past, I dunno, half hour. The MIDI you just posted sounds a lot better, though.

If Another World's underrated, how come we can't take five clicks on the internet without hearing about it? :D

But yes, Eres, Mystic Quest is a great underrated game for the SNES.

I'm gonna feel silly here for posting this, but-

Lagoon is a good action adventure game that takes a little getting used to, but is great and has an acceptable (though sometimes unforgiving) learning curve that may eventually remind people of 'bullet hell' games.

Ishisoft's Treasure Treasure is a good co-op puzzle-like game. Short, but fun (and cute, if that's a plus for either of you).

Unfortunately, Fuzz, she passed away. Or married a bear.

Eitehr way, I think mauling was involved.

SO ANYWAY, how about those actual lies, peeps?

Has no one mentioned the cow level?  Undecided

Speaking of the cow level, I recall there was some kind of bug or exploit which you could use in Diablo 1 to walk through the "unwalkable" barriers in Tristram. If memory serves, when I tried it and walked to the top corner of the map, there was a cow standing there. I couldn't figure out any way to interact with it. The next time I tried that, the cow wasn't there anymore. Perhaps that mysterious cow is what triggered all the "cow level" rumours?

But my friend knew some guy who knew some guy who had talked with some guy on the internet who had played the cow level!  :D

And my friend's cousin's best friend knew a guy whose uncle's second niece took the photograph of the cow used to make the model for the mysterious cow at the end ot the "cow level".

Need my current stdout.txt to help you find the problem?
90  Developer / Playtesting / Re: Signifier on: February 26, 2009, 05:46:05 PM
Stephen, you surprise me. You also remind me that I should NOT read in-game dialogue out loud when on the phone with my girlfriend. Embarrassed

Though I seem to be stuck now. Concerned

What do I do when I can see graphics again, and have to sell stuff? I can't seem to enter any of the houses in any way, and I've tried to make as many expressions as I could...

For WIP, it's great.

And what the hell else could 'Noitu Love' mean? I don't even think the hidden meaning could make up for that name.
When I first heard the name I thought that Noitu was a Japanese word and Noitu Love was some sort of sexual reference.  Embarrassed

lol. I'll admit, that briefly occurred to me, I thought it was a dating game or something.

Somebody should add that to the compo idea pool: "What you thought games were going to be before you played them."
92  Player / Games / Re: Underrated Games on: February 26, 2009, 03:49:11 PM
I have no idea what games count as underrated.

Is the Soul Blazer series underrated? Because if it is, Soul Blazer, guys. Followed by Illusion of Gaia, Terranigma, and The Granstream Saga.

If those aren't underrated, tell me: I can think of quite a few games that my friends didn't like and that I don't hear about online with frequency.
93  Player / General / Re: Video Game Lies Database? on: February 26, 2009, 03:42:48 PM
Oh, rob, P.S.- You have to leave the game on, unpaused, during a versus match of some sort. Most people just placed three Jigglypuffs along with their preferred character in a 99 stock match on overnight.

Though I don't really see why anyone would burn a hole in their GCN when they could just unlock Mewtwo in Event Mode or whatever you had to do to get him. Shrug
94  Developer / Art / Re: TIGSource: Renditions! (current subject: BOMBERMAN!) on: February 26, 2009, 03:35:21 PM
I tried to capture the nostalgic feeling of grabbing the orange life jacket in a multiplayer game, and then rapidly running around after timing the explosion of your last bomb just right:

I apologize for nothing on the latter.
95  Player / General / Re: Online pen and paper RPG? on: February 26, 2009, 02:10:47 PM
Whoa whot's all this then and shall I have the unfortunate news of hearing that not even spectators are no longer being added?
96  Player / General / Re: Video Game Lies Database? on: February 26, 2009, 02:07:18 PM
I remember one, that to get Mewtoo in SSBB you could leave your gamecube on all night.

That one wasn't actually a myth though - MewTwo required something like 10 hours of gameplay, and leaving the gamecube on overnight was a quick solution.

I think I just read an entirely unintentional lie born out of somebody's force of habit of abbreviating the latest entry in the series. Durr...?

That aside: Pichu, Mewtwo, Roy, and Balloon Fighter in Brawl. Shrug

I don't think a lie database would be a very good (or completable) thing, though- Doesn't EGM keep adding lies year after year come April Fool's? Like that whole "Yoshi in Pokémon" thing?
97  Player / General / Re: AVG's MMF bullshit on: February 26, 2009, 02:01:12 PM
AVG has stopped detecting MMF2 files as virii as far as I've seen (and I managed to restore everything on my comp from the vault). It should be safe now, but yes- the prospective "one program is going to fuck our shit up in the end" continues to suck.
98  Community / Indie Brawl / Re: Indie Brawl: Character Submissions on: February 26, 2009, 01:56:56 PM
I'm either terrible at thinking up movesets, or Origami Hero (Bernie)'s games do not translate themselves well as fighters, unless you bundle the moves of different characters together. Here goes my attempt at documenting his characters- warning, may be slightly spoilerful to those of you who haven't played them.

Code:
Kittey has the ability to float by using his hat as a paraglider, dashing left or right when jumping to attack (he
floats in midair and meditates before hand), and jumping on enemies. Unlike the Arch-Chancellor, Kittey can push
seemingly impossible to move objects with relative ease- though he can't pick them up. He can also climb walls.

The Arch-Chancellor can run up walls, shoot stars, throw things (such as bombs and keys), jump on top of a STARMAN, and
jump on enemies. The Chancellor's head is apparently tougher than Kittey's, since he can break blocks with it. Unlike
Kittey, the Chancellor can pick up objects, people, and animals that are light-weight in nature (keys, the Imp King,
Princess Daffodil, a goose-duck thing, blocks and, bombs). He's the only one of the four main characters that learns
how to double-and-triple-jump. His throws (including stars) can also be aimed slightly.

Stargirl (poor, chubby, stubby legged Stargirl) can pick up things, and eventually run and roll into sand blocks to
destroy them. She can sometimes find a couple of items that aid her in the platforming sense- a platform that will move
horizontally from the point where it's thrown- until it hits a wall, and an oval shaped creature with wings that she
can use to improve her jumping ability, as well as use as a platform. Though she never gets to ride it, Stargirl owns
a Star Scooter. In the end, she uses the treasure she obtained to buy one of four things: A gift card, rolling pin, a
road roller, or an army of (jumpy) lawyers. The gift card is useless, the rolling pin is used to smack Glasses, the
road roller to chase him down, and the army of lawyers gets her her Star Scooter back.

Marvin from Treasure Hunter Man is apparently sort of a spiritual successor to the AGWaK games, in the he can use his
(Sky) Bandana as a paraglider and is generally disliked (and annoyed) by the surrounding populace. Marvin has a sword
(which he eventually learns how to shoot fire out of), heavy combat boots (enabling him to do a spinning stomp that
stops him in mid air for a few moments, letting him hover horizontally for a second before descending), and a
boomerang. He is the only other character that learns how to double-jump. Marvin uses fireworks/rockets fired from
cauldrons as a mode of transportation on the island. His inventory includes statues of eels, a Seer's Eye (Sight*2, a spoof of OoT's Eye of Truth), a Sun Idol (basically a lighter), a useless scarf and Solomon's Heart and Crown- plus a kitten-statue-brought-to-life.

Glasses has BOTTLE ROCKETS (he can fly on these like platforms). And bombs, giant robots, and plans that involve using
the moon for various things (such as a base or a means to control the Earth's tidal waves to control its population).
She(He?)'s also a thief. There are statues of her(him?) in Darkside Adventures that spit laughing fireballs (somewhat
similar to Bullet Bills in appearance) She(he?) also has bombs on wheels that resemble her(him?), blocks and
bullets with her(his?) face on them, etc. In AGWaK2:DA, she(he's?) 2 years old and is wearing diapers.

Justin from Treasure Hunter Man is a spiritual successor to Glasses in terms of personality.

by accident, too.

That aside, I've been thinking on it for a while, and I was wondering how appropriate it is to amalgamate the movesets of other characters from the same 'universe' together (for example, Kittey or Stargirl shooting Stars or double-jumping when they couldn't originally). I was thinking "not very". Your thoughts?

You might want to make it clearer that "THIS ONE" is what you click to vote, to avoid people accidentally going to the database entry and not voting for the two games they first saw.

Other than that, this is pretty fancy. Gentleman
