1  Developer / Business / Re: How does one find streamers on Twitch to play ones game? on: August 05, 2018, 07:19:53 PM
TwitchKittens is a streamer network so a lot of streamers have info or links about it on their Twitter profiles.

One of the best ways  to contact streamers is through their Discords rather than on Twitch. That or the networks like TwitchKittens, which is also on Discord. A lot of streamers will even have a place where devs can drop a link to their game on their Discord servers.

Also, remember that streamers are gamers like the rest of us and even being paid to play a specific game - if they don't like it - they'll express that.

4  Developer / Playtesting / Sibyl (3d platformer/metroidvania-esque) on: August 02, 2018, 04:47:25 AM
Been working on this game for 6 months now, we released early paid version starting in March but haven't seen new sales since mid-June, so I am going to open up some playtesting and see where we are going wrong. We have already gathered some feedback that environment art needs some work, so looking for feedback other than that, it's in the works but not there yet.

(I will probably close the key after 25 or so downloads, so get in if you are interested!)

http://zeolitestudios.itch.io/sybil has some GIFs and our (currently a bit old) trailer.

http://discord.gg/Ypu45jH if you want to Smiley

Currently there is a Windows build, Unity so the usual system requirements for such games. Not art heavy so you should be good running it on most systems.

Look forward to any questions and/or feedback!
5  Developer / Business / Steam user count decreasing on: August 02, 2018, 04:10:08 AM

Any thoughts on this and how the market is evolving?

I can help (looking for community management type work right now)

But to respond to this post, look up things like TwitchKittens on Discord, there are whole servers that are dedicated to connecting devs and streamers. Also many streamers will have other friends on their discords, so you can organically ask them if they would be interested as well.

Not like forum bans or internet outages don't happen...

Why don't you try looking instead of assuming?

I've seen devs from all platforms discussing their projects.

Marketing a game has its uses, like making a living. Tongue
13  Player / General / Re: Indie Game Devs on Facebook on: November 05, 2012, 03:09:40 PM
I think you will be disappointed then Smiley

I don't see that its any worse than a link exchange of any other sort, and business reality has to meet creativity at some point.

There is plenty of talk in our group.

Why do people think Facebook is evil? It's just another community...
15  Player / General / Re: Indie Game Devs on Facebook on: October 15, 2012, 10:28:37 PM
First, we have https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Amq9uhLSh88_dGEtbHBqUWVPNkpMWS1XbS1MS0VBUWc#gid=0 ; a big list of indie projects and their needs, as well as a place for people who are looking for projects.

Then we have the follow/like exchange pages:
http://martincaine.com/services/multilike/
http://martincaine.com/services/multifollow/

And (a precursor to the above but still used by some) - https://www.facebook.com/groups/8117041572/permalink/10151008858931573/ - the "like thread"!

We're currently working on starting Google Hangouts that will be panel discussions on various dev topics, and a player-facing page at https://www.facebook.com/indiegamesnews (just started, so not much content yet).

Besides these things, there are a lot of good conversations and links posted, and collaborations started within the group.

It's more structured than Twitter, and the TIGSource community is... skeptical at best of most of my posts. Cheesy
16  Player / General / Re: Indie Game Devs on Facebook on: October 14, 2012, 10:34:52 PM
Not with what we've done... we have a system set up for like/follow exchange, and a game DB, among other things (I realize TIGSource does this last bit too ... but I've had problems with TIGDB Tongue )
17  Player / General / Re: Indie Game Devs on Facebook on: October 14, 2012, 09:58:03 PM
Groups aren't really useful if you can't promote stuff... Tongue
18  Player / General / Re: Indie Game Devs on Facebook on: October 14, 2012, 09:35:44 PM
Erm... page vs group? Tongue
19  Player / General / Re: Indie Game Devs on Facebook on: October 14, 2012, 07:40:47 PM
there already is a facebook tigsource group
I wasn't aware of this, where is it? lol
20  Player / General / Re: Indie Game Devs on Facebook on: October 14, 2012, 02:26:28 PM
Most girls I know are game devs, or LoL players. Smiley

I guess I can understand that though...

Also... we have more discussion than I see in most groups.

We also are planning to start Hangout based gamedev panels (open to all to see on Youtube).
