Why is that guy riding in a flying, wooden toilet? :D
Because that's just how darn indie he is. He's so indie, he rides flying wooden toilets! WTF I think that picture just doubled my love for Dark Dominion.

Aah, yours is way better.
Thanks man, that makes me feel better.

Well, this is a simple scientist (main character) I made for a project I've been invited to help with, but I have a feeling he won't be used since I didn't realize that someone else had already designed him. I'm SO smart when I'm sick (sarcasm)... Anyway, here he is:

LIEK OMG Joshua! I love those colours, and the main character as well! Kiss

Stwelin: Wow, that looks like a level warp from Mondo combined with a shmup, which is pretty awesome. Keep it up!

JasonPickering: I love patterns! Kiss Nice choice.

Oh, and... Where is Chevy's platforming engine anyway? I've been looking for it for some time now (because I totally stink with programming and he offered to help me anyway), but maybe I'm blind?

Kekskiller, that was beautifully put. Tears of Joy

I feel like crap at the moment (stupid cold), so I'll be VERY brief. These are the main points I keep in mind (I think...): Practice, observation, and ignoring the fact that your hand always tries to betray you by drawing crap. If you keep it up, your evil hand gets tired of trying to ruin everything and actually lets you draw something maybe not so horrible. (Keep in mind, I pretty much think all my work is ugly, so I'm not referring to any of your artwork when I say words such as "horrible".)

If that didn't make any sense, my excuse is that my brain is full of snot.

Thanks guys. Grin

Alevice: I still haven't watched Pom Poko... :/ I hear the raccoons defend themselves in a rather strange way though.

I had this interesting idea of "no undo" for electronic music. It's like playing unplugged without having any training Kiss I like the idea, especially because I only have the demo of FL Studio, means I can't save my work Grin I hope I can get the full version next january (my birthday Well, hello there!).

Here is it: Rollover192kbit.mp3
Musicians should make more improvisated songs Gentleman
This is a very interesting idea. If one were to follow this rule regularly, it would allow more practice and rapid production. I'll have to try it out.
Oh, I'd listen to your tune, but I can't just yet since I'm using my Nintendo Wii to post...

Those are great Michael. I agree that they're better off without shading.

This game is going to claim a lot of fame.

Originally I was going to say that this game's going to claim a lot of my time, but I had to say something stupid instead.
333  Developer / Art / Re: How many of you use tablets for your game art? Is it a good idea to get one? on: December 14, 2008, 08:30:34 AM
Currently I do most art by hand which I then scan in and convert to digital media. I'd love to try out a tablet, but I wouldn't say you absolutely HAVE to have one. You can get by without, but it's certainly a useful tool (and makes the process of creation and finalization much quicker). Smiley

Looks like Totoro cross-breeded with a raccoon.
Tocoon? Ratoro? Huh? Thank you. That's quite a compliment in my mind. Smiley

They all rock. The panda's my favourite since I can't resist cute little fantasy creatures... LOL
336  Developer / Art / Re: TIGsource draws creatures on: December 13, 2008, 11:46:22 AM
Well, partly because of the nice comments I got here, I decided to do a quick coloured version of my unnamed monster/creature. Thanks guys. Grin

Tried to sort of combine that old-inky-book-illustration look with the flat comic style.

WTF If those faces of love and admiration are for my little sketch, I thank you both.
338  Developer / Art / Re: TIGsource draws creatures on: December 12, 2008, 07:42:18 PM
Eh... Just whipped this out to take a break from abstract stuff. Undecided Ink on sketch paper.

339  Developer / Art / Re: show us some of your pixel work on: December 11, 2008, 09:40:17 PM
LOL Yes, that is something to be thankful for. Smiley

Aram, I can't get my eyes off that picture; it's so colourful. Grin

I'm actually having the same kind of problem as you at the moment. I can do the sprite work for my project, but I'm such a newb with game maker, I'm stuck on making speech bubbles, getting them to come from the character they're assigned to, and making it so that the text will scroll on to the next comment... I think I fail.
