Michael, you just made me flinch around in a creepy way (That's a good thing?). The whole indian thing was a stroke of genius on your part. Not that it matters, but I'd like to add something... I don't know about everyone else, but first of all, I do love platformers, that's for sure, but something else I like is being able to choose from a variety of characters separately. I find RTS games to be a little confusing sometimes; I think I'm better if I just have a specific job in the game, which would be the case if I could choose one of the various classes to be my own little character, with other characters in the same tribe either being controlled with AI or by other human players. Hope that wasn't a bunch of crap. Edit: Oh, that was pretty much your own feelings as well regarding the project, right? Sorry, I'm totally out of it and need to go to bed.

Any better? Not that I'm any expert, but his right leg still seems a bit jerky compared to the left "differentiated" leg. And... He's watching me... No really though, I'm liking how this is turning out so far. It's great. Edit: I forgot to say QWOP...

not realy a request, but I'd like to do a sprite tutorial/workshop. not exactly gamedesign, but well. Also, I'm not sure of the subject, I was thinking effects animation? at least thats the part I think I'm best at.
This sounds very appealing to me (especially if it means I can learn to make effects like yours...). LOL

A little fast probably, but whatever. And just for the record, I love BBC period dramas as well. I just finished watching North and South (the one with Richard Armitage) again.

Give him a walking cane, and you've got an old man! :D
His walk makes him seem weak, frail, and... emo. Give a bit more "oompn".
Well, he is in his pajamas, so we'll just say he's trying to be quiet? I'll try a different walking cycle with more OOMPH!!! (perhaps it could be a fast-walk upgrade). Thank you for the feedback.

Thanks so much for the nice comments on my silly little animation guys. Prepare yourselves, this one's really awkward (although, if my head was that size, I'd feel pretty awkward myself). For some reason, even though it's probably not very good at all, I still feel like it fits his personality, or at least what I have in mind...

Well... I'm tired and stuff, but here's a really stinking simple idle animation for that random boy I did (I'm actually sort of liking how it is though; I think it's 'cause of his simple style)... I'll make a walking animation next, and then perhaps A FIERY ATTACKING ANIMATION!!! WHOA!!!

KniteBlargh: Please tell me if your problem with funky colors has been fixed! I'm seriously hoping it's a side effect of the other bug because I have no idea what could cause it...
It's fixed! Good job. I'm so glad I got to play this through; wonderful entry. I kind of like the control the way it is, because since the objective of this game is on the simple side, the challenging movement makes it more fun in my opinion, but I'm sure it would still be great fun even if you did change the control a bit. The ending was rather interesting too. All in all, one of my definite favourites for this competition.

Alright, I've now followed this part of the tutorial, and my little project's looking a bit more game-like. Great work Derek! These tutorials have been the most help to me so far. Oh, and in case you're interested, my project is going to be based around a beetle's life. You're trying to fly to your destination and stuff like that, but there are going to be all these annoying floating seeds in your way among other things that I haven't made yet. Oh, and so far, since shades of vomit haven't been receiving enough love, the entire game is going to be vomit coloured, unless I decide otherwise later on... Blargh...

I didn't get any errors thank goodness, 'cause I've been waiting for this one. Great entry man. This pretty much lived up to all the hopes I had for it, and you made it in time too! Can't wait for your Construct tutorial; if it actually winds up helping me to make games like this, you'll be even more amazing.

Man, this looks so great, but I have the same problem with the white text screens, and not only that, but the colours in general are completely screwed up for me. Like, every colour of the rainbow is speckled all over the place... Do I need to run it as a Windows 95/98 program or something?

I got through alive and found all the fake treasure! This is really great. Love the effects. You can stand far enough away from the enemies that they don't give chase even when you shoot them, so that's what I found myself doing to defeat them all easily, but I think if you had made it so that they started chasing as soon as you got a glimpse of them, it would have been a bit frustrating having to run away from them while shooting and probably ending up getting lost over and over again. LOL So you made it JUST RIGHT in my insignificant opinion.

Yeah, that's what I figured. Thanks for answering! I hope to do more pixel art and such after I get this speech that I have to work on out of the way.
