61  Jobs / Offering Paid Work / Really REALLY Need a 2D Flash/HTML Coder for Arcade Platformer on: August 16, 2014, 11:53:10 PM
Remember putting out a post before a longtime ago, now I have more of budget as well as a constructed vision for the game I've been working on for 8months now lol.

The name is Daye, I create music & you can check out my work here - www.soundcloud.com/tha_chiller

Been working on a project with frequent coders & animators, all who have busy lives & was working on projects of
their own so this game was held back despite its short production time. This project is nearly complete & can be
finished in 6-10days (2 weeks max). Been sitting on my PC for almost year now u_u

The game is an Arcade Platformer with Single Screen Frame levels than scrolling boards, modeled after Super Mario Bros Arcade

& Super Crate Box

.

Has a comedic stylish theme & like I said generally 70% of the assets have been created already; most of the GFX
& animations have been finished & I have many code builds (in AS2 & in AS3). The game exploits arcade gameplay
systems similar to Mario Bros Arcade. Around about 30+ Levels with 2D obstacles & dangers.

Here's some shots of the game -

We've been using Flash/AS3 but I've been thinking about switching to HTML5.
The dimensions are 800 x 600.
Uses a colorful Pixel-art style.

Once again this is a PAID job & once you contact me & we discuss everything we can discuss Pay Rates to the Asset Production List.
As well as Distribution Services & business model (Rev-Share)

contact at me at [email protected]

Thanks for the interests  Beer!

Chrono Cross had over 40 party members, 40 CHARACTERS TO MIX AROUND. All with their own interesting sub-plots & funny time paradox meetings with their different selves. Also they all had their own set of Limit Breaks, it was dope. Depends on what you mean by Static, when your characters tie into your idea.

Input & Physical Response; it could make or break a game, if the animation/feel doesn't respond to the character or isn't polished, it has a clunky/amateur feel.

Has a comedic stylish theme & like I said generally 80-90% of the assets have been created already; most of the GFX & animations have been finished & I have many code builds (in AS2 & in AS3). The game exploits arcade gameplay systems & has a small psuedo-crafting mechanic where players run around to fuse ingredients & fight hungry monsters.

68  Player / Games / If You Had The Power To Bring Back A SNES Game... on: September 10, 2013, 07:54:43 AM
Which one would it be? Which series? what new features would you give it?

I would revive Secret of Evermore . I would give it a more open-ended feel & as cliche as time travel can be, I would make it more like Chrono Trigger with a more loose feel.
Also give it the structure of a action-RPG, but with minimalist gameplay systems like ICO.

69  Player / Games / Re: Mighty No. 9 on: September 10, 2013, 07:50:27 AM
Wow, we haven't even gone 3 days and there's already a comic with both franchises in it. Pretty heartwarming too

Holy shit this made me want to play this game even more
70  Player / Games / Re: Mighty No. 9 on: September 10, 2013, 07:30:58 AM
I think if I had re-made the same game upwards of 10 times, I'd be ready to go nuts, but apparently he's still not tired of it ..

 Shrug

same here, but i think he wanted to make a hardcore modern style 2D Megaman & go back to his roots. Capcom must've ignored him & said "lets just put out something on Xbox Live okay Ken?"
71  Player / Games / Re: PS Vita TV on: September 10, 2013, 07:28:17 AM
How much does this cost in USD?

Do you need to own a vita to use it or is it an accessory?

wondering the same thing, but it might be a streaming device like On-Live
72  Jobs / Collaborations / Music Guy looking for Coder & Animator on: June 21, 2013, 05:09:05 AM
its a single framed 2D Runner with an emerging, active environment with very fluid grease-lighting gameplay with highly irritating yet addictive level structure influenced by PDA Games in Alien Hominid . Players instruct "Runners" to vault over dangerous obstacles x active walls & destructive enemy objects influenced by N+ by either JUMPing or STOPing. There are platformer based objects & platforms with different "End Goals"; the goal point at the end of each level.

Lost my coder, & my artist is kinda busy working this Summer also on our webcomic so..yeah just need a coder experienced with 2D platformers. Also need an artist/animator experienced with simple yet fluid animations

I will be providing the music & sound library as well, I just got a new drum machine/sequencer so I can produce - http://tha-chiller.newgrounds.com/audio/

an old flash game i worked on last year, i provided the sounds & music as well as the overall, its a pong clone, click on the Fat Guy to start the game & turn down your headphones - http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/89ef2a1c556f276a752081b450158171

FRAME SIZE: 800 x 600

A 2D single, far away wide-shot camera frame

Code Language; FLASH, HTML5 (& maybe later C#)

EST Time of Production: 1-2weeks

Asset Production; Art - character models are influenced after the runner "Canabalt". The load of art & animation goes into the highly exploited enemy objects & opposing forces modeled after N+, so the focus is more on the behavior aspects of the enemy objects, as their actions loop in the environment.

Code is easier because it focuses on the simplistic mechanics & simple yet nerve-inducing actions of the enemies & active walls. The real code goes into the exploited environment. so there's more of Level Scripting than hefty code, making this easier to produce.

Ah, I saw this on numberphile as well.

I always thought it was associated only with savants but it seems to be much more common than that. Unfortunately, I'm number+colour blind. Do you find it beneficial in any way (remembering long digits, calculations)?

77  Developer / Design / Re: Where's all the Bubble Bobbles?? on: May 15, 2013, 05:17:29 AM
Its really weird how much this game isn't cloned, basically "2D Pac Man", you can really tweak the shit of the gameplay systems.

(You made me think of the old days of Neo Geo now u_u....jerk loll)

I would check out Portal 2's co-op mode.

Yup pretty much
79  Developer / Design / Re: Castlevania style boss fights on: March 23, 2013, 03:14:56 PM
Forget about health bars for awhile, lets talk about the 2D Space that's available during Castlevania's boss fights; there's a reason why Castlevania's Reaper is the most vicious boss in video game history, the space that you can actually evade & attack is so limited that it raises the adrenaline in your heart.

Castlevania proves that 2D games can have better boss fights than 3D games just on the architectural space alone...its so limited & annoying yet so satisfying. To walk away with only inch of life left after most battles in Castlevania, Konami has done something right
80  Player / Games / Re: < 15 minutes/day MMOs on: March 23, 2013, 02:34:20 PM
Anyone know any good online games that take only a short time of day and don't have to be refreshed several times a day? I love the MMO genre, but most of them are grindy time sinks.

I'm..having..this same exact..issue u_u. I need something social yet not to dig into my production time. Was thinking of booting Runescape back up..or looking for something on Desura
