hahahahahahahahahaha
though tbh, it's not like the stories of the previous gams were high literature exactly
The thing is i missed the corny-ness of the old games loll. When i was young i thought Devil May Cry has corny moments sometimes you see in B-Movies but now the new DMC is kinda full of itself

By far the original Seiken Densetsu on GameBoy, released in the US as Final Fantasy Adventure. It was simple yet robust for a GB game, with the adventure spanning multiple themes and locations.
Lol, i got Final Fantasy Adventure from Funcoland when i graduated Elementary School. Its so tough in the beginning & the learning curve is steep as fuck. Its a great game when you get into it.

Its the best fuel, but i wouldn't call you jealous because that type of feeling can make you a spiteful person, for the mere fact that you're embracing your competitive edge means you'll make a strong businessman who doesn't take any shit. the Industry is very cruel if you don't have a competitive nature, but remaining humble is key.

"Legend of Mana" because of the art direction & Yoko Shimamoura is a goddess. The 2Player controls & free-form plot pace is awesome also the Pet & Garden mechanics are dope. Edit: just wanted to add that it was one of the definitive Playstation RPGs for me. The characters were all out-of-the box (there's a NPC designed like a stained glass window...how fuckin cool is that?) & each quest ended with "The End"..always thought that was dope
GO, now your turn...i demand your comment on your experiences

I'm going to totally have to bust out my Saturn and play it.
Its SEGA's answer to Zelda like Phantasy Star is their answer to Dragon Warrior. Def worth it, takes time to get used to tho has this cool Djinn system where you use elementals based around puzzles & enemies. Very awesome game Legend of Oasis is.

Give a more specific scenario of an in-game environment you are trying to detail and I can give you a more detailed analysis. Preferably an image of the current state of the setting would help, and if not, it is important to know whether or not you are working with 2D or 3D, since the approach to detail between the two is different.
Very, very insightful Think holistically. Develop all of the elements in concert.
No-one paints portraits by getting the hand perfect before starting on the face.
Excuse me while i meditate lol, but I get the meaning Thanx dudes.

Having a bit a trouble really detailing my settings. What aesthetics do you pay attention to 1st? Everytime I think about the puzzles I want to create, I worry about the NPCs when I worry about the NPCs I think about the items & tools in the area, when I worry about that I'm back to worrying about puzzles. Stuck in a bad loop.
What details are the most important to build off of when you're designing a setting, level, or dungeon?

very minimalist, should make a bit more Gothic it could really bring out the theme, I enjoy the environment but a little more definition could bring out the character of the game.

Mix it up a bit - i say add some more zest just to kinda give it some character it doesn't have to be an exact clone because I really dig the art (says the dude with a Link profile pic).
Make the character's sword light in a different way (like a neon flash while the screen goes black), add a second function to the spin attack (like him darting forward as a finisher)..inject a little flavor in the small parts even if its just a Zelda clone. Adding a little more theme to the main could really bring out small but effective ideas dudeski.

You must make the lines between Co-op & Rivalry so clear that they sync with one another - if you're building that type of game however. In the arcades its all about being better than the other player but the games that shined a lot we're co-op titles. Play classic titles like X-Men Arcade, Simpsons Arcade & Gauntlet, it was awesome because you had the joy of playing with your friends but you know you wanted to do better than one another - now the power to really get someone invested in spending quarters after quarter is great but that feeling of your friends having a good time together made you really stay around because you didn't want to be left out.
