Krunk diggs, AMAZON. I colored a sketch. I'll probably scan my sketchbook or something at some point.

Marriner Dreams Somber olive clouds clung to the navy blue sky towards the city the windward facing mountains cascaded with condensation a fog like a blanket tossed to conceal the rotting corpse of the new world. The rusted barnacled docks whizzed by, a landmark for what you were convinced would be the peak of sorrow in your meager existence. You bid farewell to the port shanties and slid deep into the worn teal vinyl of the train car, knowing that when you opened my eyes again it would all have been a cruel dream sent from the messenger himself as a hefty reminder of your short time left here on this flat earth. Presently you focus your attention on your only luggage, a satchel containing an array of highly personal valuables and necessities. Upon further inspection, you find: - 12 jars and vials
- forceps
- a net
- hemp string and thread
- your scientific journal
- a multipurpose tablet
- quill and ink
- 3400 standard credits
- a canteen
- a cast insect tibia knife
Torn from taking stock of your inventory, you're drawn to a sweet smell lingering throughout the cabin. You turn to see a familiar face conducting the aisles. The recognition dawns upon you and you recall a brief encounter with this same individual that resulted in a stilted relationship years earlier, when you were still a skiff pulling wild mussels in from the roiling waves, and you sought to fill the lonely nights spent freezing in the lowest boarding deck, and the pumping engines filled your ears and kept you awake until the next sun rose. In a bout of frivolity you consider approaching the old acquaintance and attempting to rekindle any lost sentiments, but as to matters of flirtation it has been a long time. You're drawing a blank. ➙"_____________"

Ah, true, you are very right. That seems like something that would be programmed, though, I don't feel like animating that by hand. If I get more graphics together maybe I can find a coder or something. Thanks for the input!

Dunno if anyone has done this before, but I had an idea to make a faux-3d interior by looping either side, treating the camera as if it were in the center of a cube. And then I realized I could do this pretty easily with papercraft and a digital camera, so that's my next experiment. C:

Not trying to fight off legitimate criticism, but I am about to try to answer some fair questions. Why is she like, turning her towards the camera instead of looking forward like you normally do while running.
I think because in some platformers the character tends to lean towards the camera a little bit? I don't know if there is a word for this. Also, the character is almost at a 1/3 view, not completely side-on if that makes sense. And on top of that, she looks she turning it so much it would hurt, 'cos she does it kinda quickly.
The extreme poses also help to create the illusion of exaggerated movement; many cartoons would not be applicable to reality just because that's not how physics works, but I think a lot of animation principles function as a replication of how we might perceive those things. After all, isn't all art our filtration and reinterpretation of reality?

Dustydrake@ Yeh, I guess I should give her some kind of expression.
John Sandoval@ Mm, I was trying to create tension before the character falls, but I don't really know how you would accomplish something like that. If anyone could steer me in the right direction to some helpful animation-related things, that would be most appreciated!

Namragog@ Your stuff always oozes with style, man! We gotta catch up one of these days. Here's a lil' idle animation. Going to attempt and fail a running one, next.
