In deze bruisende en geeky stad wordt sinds jaar en dag de fameuze Game Developers Conference (GDF) georganiseerd. Wha? GDC => GDF in Dutch? Why that makes no sense, even if the Dutch word for Conference started with an F. Unless.... GLOBAL DEFENSE FORCE Yeah saw that too, I guess they mashed Game Developers Festival together or something, I can't think of a dutch word starting with "f" that means conference.

Lots of the interviews are in English. Interviewees include Kellee Santiago(thatgamecompany), Petri Purho, Phil Fish, Jonathan Blow, Erik Svendang(Blueberry Garden), Eric Zimmerman and some dutch game school representatives(which are in dutch). http://player.omroep.nl/?aflID=9297912It's a bit crappy quality, but it's still interesting to watch, I was surprised that we got coverage on national TV on it. And of course, being a dutch TV show on games, they have to show "Holland's Pride", Killzone 2, so it starts out with some interviews with the developer Guerilla.

I really like the whole look of the game. One thing I can't really figure though, is why the main character has a black outline, while in conceptart he is completely white. Sure, a reason for it would be to make him more obvious against the backgrounds, but, wouldn't it look better without, can't you do something with the shading, shadows on the backgrounds or something? Nothing but love for the game, keep at it!

I'm loving my mac too, though there is one thing that bugs me: What is the point of minimizing programs/open files, there is no keyboard support for it, and functionally its basicly the same as CMD+W, it just seems to be obsolete.

I do think it can help, in a postmortem kind of way, to discuss with others on how to better communicate your original ideas. I would never put an artists statement in the game or on the download page though.
But like the case I pointed out with Super Columbine Massacre RPG!, it should never be forced onto the player, or the creator.
For instance, I was really bummed by The Marriage, as I could not interpret the interactions any other way, because the title gave away what it was about. It's not really an artists statement, but it immediately makes me not ever have any other thoughts on the game.

I remember that the maker of Super Columbine Massacre RPG! was kind of forced to write an artists statement.
At first he released it anonymously, but eventually some kind of authority forced him to reveal himself, upon which he had to give a reason behind the making instead of letting it speak for itself. This was to not make him look like a horrible person for making this "sensationalistic entertainment" the media was making it out for.

Just got a Mac a couple of days now, and because I still want to keep playing those game maker games that keep coming out once in a while, I'm still deciding on how to do it. VM Fusion, Parallels or simply Boot Camp. Got any suggestions or dissuasions?

Why is everyone so excited? May be you have seen more of it or have played it, and that is exciting, but to me the video just shows a rolling ball, which doesn't look very interesting really...
