Aliases are probably more memorable than names. Unless your name is really memorable for some reason.

There's plenty of failures in Game Maker games (maybe failures in drag-and-drop). I can't be the only one who has made a separate object for every variation of an in-game element (spikes facing multiple directions, every button on the menu screens, etc).
Ah, the memories... Some people would actually argue that this is good OOP. It only has advantages in the room editor. Well, sure... Game Maker is a different thing. I'd say it's a pretty okay practice in there... but in regular programming... No. OK, how about this: a sprite for every button? How about a giant sprite for some text that says "Go" at the beginning of the game? Not cropped.

I can't hold my breath for very long. That's going to put me at a disadvantage, isn't it?

Right now it's like Snake or Pac-Man without the challenge. Why is there this nice neat arrangement of walls anyway?
The game does get more fun when there are more enemies, though.

It seems like players could pretty much cheat by setting a really easy goal for themselves, but if the system was designed well, it would prevent that. This could be a nice design for casual games in general. I'm not sure why you're pairing it with a Mario Party-style game.

Community / DevLogs / Re: Tilt reboot (alpha 4) - some level designs and stuff

The goal of Tilt is to rotate platforms to get the ball to a goal. However, you can only rotate the platform that the ball touched last. So, can you figure out how to solve this level? (by the way, you can't move the platform fast enough to bounce the ball up) Yay for weird physics.

This is great for all of the people who hold their breath when they see someone in a movie underwater.

Hidden / Unpaid Work / Re: I'm bored. I want to make music for someone.

I don't mean to be annoying or anything, but I was just wondering if you perhaps missed my post?:D (At the end of the first page!)
If you are not interested I understand that of course but I would like to know!:)
Sorry about that; I just looked at it. Your game currently looks nothing like a forest, so it's going to be hard for me to come up with fitting music. Maybe you should get more of the graphics done first? Alright, I'll see what I can do. I was thinking you'd say that! I am currently looking for an artist to help me with the graphics but I figured it'd be easier to find one if I had the music done (and the other way around, so why not start in both corners!). I don't mean the game will necessarily look like a forest, I just tried to describe some sort of music that is calm and you can listen to it for a very long time without getting angry with it! Anyway I will make sure to get back to you when I am closer to finnished! oh I didn't see your reply I thought you just posted a quote but I see now you replied inside the quote:D Great!:D Thanks!:) Let me know how it goes! Currently, I don't really have any ideas from forest music. The only way I could come up with something is if I mixed forest songs from various video games, and I don't want to risk wasting my time with something that doesn't actually fit. Besides, I've been trying to make some of my own music, which will just confuse me further. I think you should try and get some graphics done before I make the music; I've never heard of artists using music as their inspiration (when it comes to video games anyway).

Developer / Design / Re: Logo screens

OK, let's see if I'm right here. The general consensus is that logo screens are good if: - They look cool
- They're short
- They're skippable
Would everyone pretty much agree with that?
