I think this could be the first Playdate game on TIGForums?

I've been lucky enough to get Developer Preview access to the Playdate + SDK and have created several prototype games, out of which one emerged as something I wanted to turn into a full game. This is the journey of that game. It's been in development since May and has had over 150 hours of development time so far.

Anyway, you can get a more detailed look behind the scenes on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/dailydriver

Follow aspects of this journey on Twitter: https://twitter.com/i/events/1286382718578839553

And join my Discord server to chat about the game: https://discord.gg/zDDgAah

I'll be sure to post some updates here soon.

Didn't take much time at all. An hour here and there, mostly just forum data entry to setup the pages featuring game.

I will renew the domain in the hope that somebody will come forward.

I'll try to put a notice on the site so that people will see it.
3  Community / Jams & Events / AGBIC - A Game By Its Cover - new organiser required on: April 25, 2014, 01:54:01 AM
A few years ago I started http://www.AGBIC.com as a way of bringing together the A Game By Its Cover game jam. Sadly, since then I have become too busy to manage the process. This years http://famicase.com exhibition is almost upon us, which means that a new AGBIC could start this summer holiday.

So, I am looking for volunteers to take over organising/running the game jam and related website.

Requirements:
1. web development skills (site runs Vanilla forum software - php/mysql)
2. love of indie games
3. time to spare

Please respond here if you are interested.

Thanks!
matt

So, Famicase 2013 is currently running at Meteor in Tokyo, Japan.

Of course that also means that we're preparing for another AGBIC "A Game By Its Cover" Competition. Woo!

Last year I managed the competition on my own, but this year I am a lot busier so I need help. I am looking for volunteers to moderate the forum, draft announcement posts, press releases and so on. I would like to simplify the rules and voting system.

Any volunteers should reply below, or on the AGBIC website, stating what experience you have moderating forums. Experience with the Vanilla forums software would be great. Good writing skills and a love of indie games, too!

Thanks!

It's great that Derek Yu tweeted about it, but I am still hoping for a TIGsource front page post.

Anyway, 28 #agbic entries so far!

Remember the AGBIC competition, inspired by the Famicase 2010 exhibition?
http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?board=42.0

There was also discussion of Famicase 2011: http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=19353.0
Recently, Famicase 2012 has was announced: http://famicase.com

TIGforums will not duplicate competition themes, so the AGBIC 2012 competition is running from its own website.
Already we have 19 entries, so come along and join the fun Smiley

Take part now!

1. The original competition ran late-June to early-August 2010
http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=13392.0
Though the 2011 competition is actually a couple of weeks longer (mid-June to mid-August) so that we can include as many school summer vacations/holidays as possible around the world.

2. TIGforums has a policy of not repeating competition themes, so I asked of I could organise it myself and the mods said "yes, please!"
Hopefully we will get a plug on TIGSource nearer the time.

I guess it depends what your goals are. Having one large game by the end of August, or having a bunch of smaller games between now and then?
20  Player / Games / Re: Famicase 2012 = AGBIC 2012 - http://www.agbic.com on: May 26, 2012, 01:31:58 AM
Definitely combine them. I'd even change the rules to allow that (currently it says the game must be made only for AGBIC)

As for new covers, the more the merrier! Go for it.
