I just played with 5 players, which was very fun and entertaining. However, the mouse is a bit harder to control than the others, and the space key was often pressed accidentally.

Also the rings need a function or get removed

Original, fun and annoying

Nice to play once, but I wont be touching this a second time.
Well maybe, if I search for unknown games on my computer Wink

I'd like an AS3 tutorial, you know one of those where they make a small game and let you follow step by step. I'm pretty sure it's out there somewhere, so if anyone could direct me to it I'd be thankful Smiley
Seconded

I think you are looking for something like this?

I did follow that tutorial, and yes, something like that but for as3 would be useful Smiley

I would slightly agree with that, but it would be childish in a good way than.

I would not use this style in a serious/colorless styled game.
More something as childish as nitromes games. (which also all have outlines. nitrome.com )

I much prefer it without the outline!  In fact, increasingly I associate sprite outlines with very amateur game artwork. I don't recall ever seeing them used in a professional game.  -_-

I have indeed never seen outlines like this in a professional game, but I do not find this look unprofessional/I would not have laid that link myself
But thanks for your reply Smiley

No, since I see them as some sort of possible game sprites I have outlined them, but I guess I over experimented with selective outlining. As we speak I am making an edit without outline Smiley

EDIT:
I am not sure if its better, but its at least quite different!

EDIT2:
Oh, I like this one a lot too!

I am working on this, and I still do not know if I want to continue with it.

Any motivational words? Wink

Very nice writing Derek!

This really inspires me to try game maker again, as it still is the most easy and accessible way to get your ideas working!

Hello,

My name is Daniel, 16 years old and I am from the Netherlands

My first game ever was commander keen, and maybe because of that, new games did never interest me much.
When I was 8 or so, I played pokemon, and lots of free download able mini (indie!) games, and I never stopped.

I used to call these things 2d games, (and sometimes old school games, I love to search for things such as warcraft, dune, settlers, heroes of might and magic, beneath a steel sky are among my favorites)
but now I know what they really are, since a few months.

Before I knew the term indie I had played exhaustively (is that a word?) such as
N (I really loved those race levels, and had to finish all the good ones)
Nikujin (Played untill I got the impossible time of 4:25, I still can not believe it myself)
Kingdom of loathing, which is also my favorite web game
Cave story, I still can't beat the last Ballos form

Also I played a while with Armadillo run, chalk and probably a lot of other well known games too.

More about me:

I was 2 years ago adopted by the pixel art community, and have become quite a pixel artist myself I guess Smiley
Since I was young I have been interested in game design, creation, development and programming and what ever comes with that
Even though I have a wide understanding and interest about programming, I never really studied something, and I am not really good at something. I still hope to become, but that wont go automatically Undecided

Even though I live behind my computer, I am a swimmer and a juggler as well, if I need to even professionally (both)

Thats about it Smiley

Daniel

EDIT
Oh gosh, a picture of course!
But I dont have any!

Ah well, this self portrait will probably work for you as well.
