Not played Spin Cycle yet. Agreed on the level design, I haven't played a FPS that engaged me this much in ages. I played a bit of Black Ops campaign but it does not even compare to Duke. I have to admit I do enjoy CoD online though.

Jak and Daxter series is on my never ending list of PS2 games I still need to play.
Playing Duke Nukem Atomic Edition in preparation for Forever. Never played through this game before and it's pretty awesome so far. Reminds me so much of Half Life in places. Love the secrets.

Loosely, we'd appreciate a stripped down version of photoshop with streamlined pixelling features. Bingo. Then add an animation system similar to graphics gale, a tilemap feature to that of Pro Motion 6, and you have a winning pixel program.

Banjo Kazooie is a much better game than Tooie. End of story. Banjo Kazooie is much less of a metroidvania than BT, if it even qualifies as a metroidvania that is. In BK you can pretty much complete each world 100% as you go along. There needn't be any unnecessary backtracking if you play like this. The worlds in BK are much more compact and better designed than the ones in BT (which are often filled with too much big empty space, so much that they had to put teleporters within the worlds themselves). BT feels like such a chore to play because the long winded back tracking across the massive worlds is a necessity to complete the game.

Player / General / Re: Your staple diet

never tried meat buns before, but your photo makes me want to. my staple diet includes, lots of fruit(blueberries and fresh pineapple are my favs), eggs (like 4 a day), vegetables (mostly spinach and broccoli), lean meats, oats...mostly the healthy stuff. for a while my breakfast everyday was fruit porridge (oats + milk + heat + blueberries & raspberries) ....yum! occasionally i like to pig out and eat some not so healthy foods. my favs for this are ice cream (either ben and jerrys or haagen daz), cheese cake, and pizza of the super greasy meaty variety. As far as day-to-day. These are my staples:
Huge bag of brown rice (25lb. lasts about a year) Huge "thing" of corn tortillas (lasts a really long time) black beans, cheese (tacos and quesadillas) steam buns, dumplings (fry them, fucking delicious), ramen (indo-mie) frozen vegetables (add to ramen and make stir-fry with rice)
all of these things can keep for a really long time if stored properly. I don't eat a lot of meat, mostly for cost reasons, and the beans provide a lot of that protein. I eat enough meat if I have to get fast food or go out to eat anyway.
ok your post has made me want to start including tacos and quesadillas as part of everyday eating, cus i LOVE mexican food like this!

Thanks for posting this, bought it without hesitation. Though I've never really been into adventure games, there's no way I'm turning down a price like that. The game looks beautiful, maybe it will spark a new love for this genre.

Eat lots and lots of nuts. pecans, almonds, brazils, peanuts etc. They are extremely high in calories and are also very good for you.

I agree with the comments about aesthetics being important. knytt wasnt an amazingly pixeled game or anything but it did have that simple charm, and that made the experience a bit more enjoyable. but visually this game seems very.....bleh.
I mean if you're gonna get inspired by another graphics style then at least make them look as nice (underside does this pretty well I think)
regardless of visuals, I still think the game looks fun. and thats what matters most I guess.

i know what you mean but i wouldnt say they're completely unrelated. RTS is testing both your strategic planning/thinking as to what the best logical solution is, and at the same time putting your reaction times to the test. thats why a decent rts like starcraft is very difficult to play well. but yeah there is definitely a very distinct feel between RTS and TBS.
the videos ive watched seem really intense, tho ive heard the hard counter complaint a number of times before. but blizzard seem very good at listening to fans, so maybe a lot of these problems won't exist for too long.

I love HDstarcraft, great commentaries. I've learned a ton about the game from watching his videos.

ahh but lugia has aeroblast, the coolest/best flying type move in the game.
oh another thing i dont like about these games, most of the hm moves absolutely suck, and you have to waste a couple spaces in your team carrying around a useless hm pokemon. ;(
