So I'm probably gonna show up as early as possible. I might even show up a day earlier just so I can hang out and get real psyched. Is anybody else gonna be there early and wants to hang out, or wants to stay for a day later for an after-party or something? Be pretty sweet to hit up a pub or something afterwards; I have to get my bus tickets ahead of time, so just wanna know if it's gonna be worth it to get my return ticket for a day later, if anybody's gonna be hanging around.
I live here and was hoping to hang out something along these lines. So count me in, before or after whatever works best for you.

I also think this is an amazing concept with tons of potential! Really clever and I can easily imagine this being developed into a major game along the lines of World of Goo (of course there's a lot involved with that...)

I like it, it was really obvious what to do. I think it needs some sense of progression, I'm not sure what that would mean but I started to lose interest because it felt futile. I seemed to always be able to keep at least a few pieces up but never the whole thing, and that didn't feel like it was going to change either way.
Great concept, and I really like the (new-- didn't see the old) painting of the woman.

These endless debates are just as pointless as it is to talk about which console is the best one out there (I've grown out of it a long while ago). So, maybe this will be the last time that I hang around these forums, or not. But I now realize that constantly thinking about video games becoming more like the other mediums has only become an obsession for me. Ah, I kind of agree. I'm not sure it relates exactly to materialism but I think we're all getting a bit tired of trying to find "meaning" in games. I think it still needs to be explored, for sure! But I know that for myself I'm a bit tired of analyzing everything I do as a game developer. And actually, fun is meaningful. I agree when increpare says that not all games need to be fun. But at the same time, fun itself is legitimate. A lot of... OH DEAR HERE WE GO AGAIN! Mkay so over and out. Go do something relaxing and out-of-doors, and for awhile just forget about games before you are driven STARK RAVING MAD! Peace...

My $0.02, try eclipse: http://www.eclipse.org/Go Downloads -> Eclipse for C++ Eclipse is open source, really full featured and has a lot of plugins. I don't know how it compares to VS but I do know it's very capable. Since I develop mainly on linux this is the best choice for me, but I do also use the windows version for when I do my windows builds.

I hate Flash with a passion (after seeing so many games that should be a solid 60fps chugging along at 20fps or so in a postage-stamp sized window on a page of adverts, with awful controls). Although flash seemed to be holding this game back a little (30fps or so on my Macbook, and some slight control lag?) Uh, I have a Macbook too (a three year old one, in fact) and I didn't have any "lag" whatsoever. I had some noticable lag fullscreen on my P4. I fixed it: - Change mode from fullscreen to windowed - Maximize the window This turned off antialiasing, somehow, and made the game run faster. ***SHRUG*** =)

Here's mine, printed on standard copy paper no less: And using my special patented cutting process (scissors) no two cards are alike! *Note the JPEG compression isn't part of the above image; it's actually on the card!! I think this one is subtly awesome. Maybe too subtle for many, but subtly awesome nonetheless!

I had some lagging issues but I went into it and turned fullscreen off, then maximized the window. For some reason when you do it that way there is no antialiasing, but the other way there was... =)

Someone needs to make a video of the 'doing things the hard way' challenge, where they go all the way up, and come all the way down, and land on the wrong side of the little bump.
There is a video of somebody doing it three times in a row: PS: Unlike the other player mentioned earlier, 500 deaths is apparently NOT enough for me to beat the Doing it the Hard Way section. I did make it to Easy Mode Unlocked on the way back down but that's about it. Hahaha! ... but it was a fun 500 deaths.

Whew, that was amazing. Truly exhilarating! Here is my victory stats:
2:51, 4501 flips, 1501 deaths; Ten Trinkets. hardest room ...Not as I do (134 deaths).
In other news: Doing Things the Hard Way isn't the hardest part of the game? Good grief Charlie Brown! (I did skip that trinket)
Terry you're probably sleeping now but you've really created something special! I loved every second although I want my sanity back, please...
