Whoever mentioned Win95 was spot on. If that is the look you were going for then you nailed it. This is also a great little game. I did manage to make the ball disappear at one point, but I was able to restart the hole and everything was good again. You could definately be a bit more generous with the par ratings, but having said that I was never that far over par at the end of 18 holes. All round a very solid game. Good stuff Thank you! There are definitely a handful of bugs I need to nail down. But I am glad to hear my "workaround" of restarting the hole isn't too much of a pain. Thanks for playing, Oddball!

I was proud of my my 3400ms time until I came to post here and saw your time whilefun. I went back and tried to beat it but I could only get my time down to 2608ms. What tactic are you using? I selected only two keys and quickly rubbed between the two. Anyway nice game Muskox. It's got that track and field button bashing vibe. Good stuff I think I just got lucky, as I cannot break the 2600 mark now. I was using what I can only describe as a "finger gallop" :D

I'd probably extend the active objects range a few dozen pixels past the view window, too,
I usually just use the sprite size or sprite size plus some padding constant, that way the same logic works for any object (with varying sprites, for inheritance purposes) I've also adapted the 'firingDelay' variable for the enemies, so that they will automatically start firing every X seconds after crossing a certain point in the view.
You could also try using a randomized delay so that the firing sounds from on screen enemies is not quite so rhythmic. (so "pew...pew.pew..." instead of "pew.pew.pew."). I have found random variation to be one of the cheapest and easiest ways to add "feel" to a game (for lack of a better term)

I hope everyone had as much fun as I did with this compo. That was a lot of fun playing all those games. It was hard to narrow down to my favourite three!

Cool concept. I could only play by myself, but it was neat once I figured out how to alternate feet properly. Very much like skating for real! Definitely less button mashey feeling than some "press these buttons to go more" games, which was a nice surprise. One thing I did find hard was accurate attacks. I almost always missed, or held a button for slightly too long and did a 90 degree turn instead.

One of the more funny entries I played I loved the varied animation of the tennis players. When they hit each other with the ball. hah. Good music too. I did find that one shrill scream sound a bit much compared to the otherwise mellow feel.

Pretty cool! One thing I found a bit confusing was the boost. I wasn't sure when I had boost available or not, or when it was helping me. It didn't matter that much on track 3 though because I won! woohoo

In a word: AWESOME. Really great job. Subtle things like the undead's heads bobbing to the time of the bad guy music. Good stuff. Will likely play this again soon, so I can WIN. I was so close. haha

Cool game! I thought it was pretty fun One thing I found difficult was accurate turning and shooting. It'd be cool if somehow I could turn the bike in a tighter radius or something so I could react quickly to ball position changes when it's close to me. Passing to team mates could be neat too. Well done though

Version 1.3 has been posted on OP. It includes only one fix - menus now work with the mouse, so you don't need to move your hand to the cursor keys if you don't want. Hooray! Also, this is officially the watermark for "the perfect round". If anyone can match or beat it, you will be crowned The Mini Golf Master. I think I'll even make some kind of easter egg with your name on it in the game. Happy putting!

Some tiles I was playing with a few months back. My first real pixel things that I tried to make consistently coloured. They aren't nearly detailed enough I don't think. <snip> What do you guys think?
I think it looks quite nice, and has a pleasing retro feel IMHO. Reminds me of early DOS for some reason. Purple.
Is Awesome. Fragments are so. Thanks, that's the vibe I was going for. DOS-ish.
