You can use Xcode 3 now! It's on the website! Dunno if it works with ios5 or Lion tho...
...you can also use Emacs now. xcodebuild is a thing
I know, I know... but I'm sure that reinstalling an old IDE over a beta SDK will kill me someday. I have Xcode 3 and Xcode 4 installed into separate directories, complete with separate toolkits and SDK's. Working out just fine. Same here, although it does suck to have almost 20GB of space taken up JUST by IDEs, especially when you're on a 64GB Macbook Air...

So, I entered a local contest to win a MacBook pro. I thought to myself, "great, I'll finally have a development opportunity for iOS!"... Haha, well, thanks to bias other people won and I got nothing. It isn't in my nature to brag about myself, perhaps part of why I lost. the few people who beat me were TERRIBLE, and did nothing to warrant winning by either a short or long term effort, where I put in a ton of both.(part of why I had been less active here) so, while that undeserving wretch watches porn and reads Facebook all day on his new mac, I'll sit around here and dream of the day I can get myself a setup to develop on iOS. Oh yeah, the whole competition was about how you'd take advantage of what the MacBook would do for you, etc etc. This kid literally said "I don't know... I guess it'll be cool to have one." What a fucking joke. His parents were schmoozing the judges the whole night.
I know it's a long shot, but I might have a mac mini to give away (as in free) 6 months from now. If you're still looking then, PM me and I'll see what I can do for you

Yeah, things are pretty informal here in Europe as far as relationship building goes. The "friend zone" is also nonexistent here, it's pretty normal for circles of friends to contain members of both sexes.
depends on the country - doesn't happen so much in France, for instance. What are you saying doesn't happen in France? The "friend zone"?

Sometimes it is good to just let that inner creative child out after you've spent hours with game design, complex programming or art, sort of like playing with legos.
Yeah but then playing with real "legos" (can be legos, but also an instrument- anything that allows for creative improvisation really) is actually more fun IMO.

Notch spoke a lot about quests and similar stuff a year or two ago- this seems to be either on the backburner, or completely cancelled now though.
Besides for the very weak achievement paradigm, I'd also argue that MC has no set progression.

Yeah, the whole "dating" game in the US is a pain. Seriously, European chicks: way easier to deal with.

Michael Cera
I used to dislike him, then I watched Scott Pilgrim and now I'm watching Arrested Development and I think he's pretty cool. Arrested Development is pretty amazing. Best show ever IMO. The problem with Michael Cera is that he was typecast pretty young, and it's hard to break out of your stereotypical role in these conditions. Maybe as his career matures, he'll be able to diverge from "that awkward kid". Don't get me wrong though, I love this personality and think he plays it marvelously.

Finish high school, go to college. You still have about 7 years to worry about that Yeah, obviously. I guess I just like to have a plan. I still am curious about my question, though. It's definitely an interesting question (although it's covered pretty much every month on these forums). But come on man, you're 15 and already worried about supporting your future wife and kids? Enjoy what you have right now! When you think about it, you can be #2 if you want- part time student, part time indie! It's highly likely that any plan you have at 15 will change. And it's good! If I had committed to the plans I had when I was 15, I'd be miserable right now. Heck, I'm in my 20s, working on a PhD, and even now I don't know where I'll be 5 or 10 years from now- nor do I care! Life is short, there are million of things to do, don't lock yourself in some ideal of what your future should be like! (and screw all these "orientation professionals" or whatever that force kids to have a concrete plan of their career when they're still in high school- that's pure bullshit).

Finish high school, go to college. You still have about 7 years to worry about that EDIT: Also, the industry will likely be very different 7 years form now, so any answer you might get now will probably not be applicable by the time you're on the market.

Man, this really looks amazing. It doesn't look like CG characters trying to look real -- it looks like real character trying to look like CG characters. If that makes any sense. Almost as if it's live-action footage that had a filter applied. Very impressive!
You'd enjoy the art style of A Scanner Darkly (movie).

I for one think that their decision to make the character 3x2 is terrible. The blocks are too small, and it makes mass digging a pain.
In Minecraft, your character is 2x1, which means that you can easily dig a straight shaft underground. Much better.
I find digging to be a pain as a result, and it breaks the game for me.

I guess I'll continue so that I can at least see all the content.
From what I gather this will take you a long, long time. Unfortunately they made it grindier than Minecraft and filled it with a shiton of unrelated gameplay mechanics that don't fit together at all. Yeah, it definitely doesn't feel coherent. I wonder how much time they spent on play-testing with non developers.
