I could write essays on any given topic in Smash if anyone is interested. Competitive 4 player. I would love a general fighting game thread as well since I take interest in most of them

I think mind control would be pretty cool. Of course, I'm grounding myself in reality here and talking about something like being able to send only a few discrete signals and only after significant training, and it wouldn't feel like just naturally thinking 'I want to do X' of course (though with conditioning, it could start to feel as natural as that - and that's the cool part!) I don't actually have any faith in this happening (it sounds like an incredibly risky business decision) but let it be noted that if I ever got my hands on some brainwave-reading equipment I would love to mess around with it.

imo the biggest gain from hiding UI was the big garish tiles in the bottom left showing pretty much all the stuff you already know. and only the item slot shows up if you try to swap your item, etc.

Looks pretty. I wish DS had a way to show health, estus etc without the cluttersome UI. Or if I could just have the health bar visible and nothing else, that would be sweet..
ds3's auto-hide on was the best implementation in the series imo. everything hidden until you needed it (lost hp, stamina visible below 25% or something) or raised your shield (so you could check whenever too).

I really love my GOD-GIVEN LIBERTY of buying and drinking one whole gallon of milk every day.

Woah, the votes are in! Someone's gotta mention this stuff!

Glad we got a fair amount of voters, and congrats Yellowjacket Smiley

Great stuff, Yellowjacket! I really liked your take on the atmosphere of the song and how you gave it a totally unique feel. And I'm obviously a sucker for the old school samples.

As requested, here's a link to the original: https://soundcloud.com/blockdude11/jet-stream

Now Geoff just needs to put up a final voting thread. Whenever you're ready!

You all pressured me into finally uploading my track! It's been done, sans a few finishing touches, for a while now.

Winter Sequence 2 Remix

So, I chose Yellowjacket's "Winter - Sequence 2" (link anywhere??) Even though the piece's style initially seemed to conflict with my own, I had a lot of fun trying to make the two come together. Over a much more upbeat but hopefully still somewhat 'cold' backdrop, I wove in several motifs that struck me from the original, and added a new chorus to tie things together. Anyway, enjoy!

Can't wait to hear your track too Yellowjacket Smiley

A trailer for your game feels dirty? Sharing gifs and screenshots on social media is sleazy? Talking to journalists in interviews and on podcasts is unwanted? Showing your game at a conference/convention/trade show is manipulative?
No, it's more like these are extroverted things, which when seen through the lens of introversion can feel these ways at times (source: my life)

Great! I will probably take longer this time, but who's to say - I may go full madman again! Wink
54  Player / Games / Re: who's excited for mighty number 9!!! on: June 21, 2016, 04:16:48 PM
... especially the Zero series as its criminally overlooked in my opinion
The Zero games play very differently from the 'traditional' mega men, and yeah I feel like they never get mentioned enough - maybe lumped in with the other mega men due to similarities on the surface. The key differences are Zero's mobility and the Z Saber, both of which you use a lot. The level design ranges from mediocre to good but the boss design ranges from good to flawless, imo.

Heh heh, sounds fun. I don't think I have anything particularly tricky up my sleeve so I'll just choose some of my favorites again. Shall we PM the tracks to you, Geoff, and then you can distribute them to start us off at the same time?
57  Developer / Audio / Re: VOTE BY THE 12TH - TIGSource Musical Challenge XLVIII: Cover Each Other on: June 15, 2016, 05:37:55 PM
That would be fine with me, but I'm fine with a coin toss if we want to move things along Smiley

Everything kind of reminds me of Ultima.

A little thing though, the animated gif looks like it's saying "GUH"

Literal quote I gave the image on Gamejolt:

This looks cool, I've been looking for a new puzzle game.
I'd buy it if it was cross-platform! Hope you publish other versions or a web version =)

Sadly, I'm held back by GM's prohibitive cost for cross-platform exports and something running the platforms to perform the export on. If these truths ever change though, I'd jump at the chance to port it.

Wow, a tie? I don't have any real suggestions for a resolution, but the cool yet wholly infeasible solution would be for Yellowjacket and I to cover each other, and then have another round of voting Tongue
