I heard that Battle for Wesnoth is so luck-based that you can't be certain of the outcome of nearly any battle So people play it with save/load spell. There was also Star General, similar to PG and FG but large-scale and with action taking place both in space and on planets. But it tends to get boring and repetitive. MoO2 and GalCiv2 are way better.

I think, I also have an early build from original DigiPen student submissions. Not so polished in terms of presentation but with a different set of levels.

Somehow the video of Bobsgame in the making reminded me of Mr.Bean making lunch in the park Both processes take lots of time, use weird equipment, look awkward and produce odd results

Maybe those 'You have'-s could be split into a separate thread? It's kinda hijack-ish but impossible to resist You have to circumcise the Leaning Tower of Pisa You have to inflict untold horrors upon the giant naked men You have to find the perfect gift for the Chernobyl disaster You have to celebrate the second World War Is there a noun 'gazebo' in the generator?

It had a story to follow for awhile, then it would transition to open-world sandbox play somewhere between Morrowind and Silent Hill 2. I had started on an algorithm for generating a realistic abandoned city Have you played Survival Crisis Z?

It may be tactics but it's pure fun, have you tried Chinese chess (Xiangqi)? No luck involved but it will leave you puzzled as in "How the ... did that happen?". At least in the early games. "Normal" chess is an all-out offensive or trench warfare. Xiangqi somehow makes me think of special ops. A couple of PC adaptations This one's more adjustable http://www.jcraner.com/qianhong/This one's better looking http://mayoneez.1g.fi/hiddenlynx/No luck AND incomplete information AND some building... Solar Vengeance would be the one if it weren't buffed up to real-time with active pause You could also take a look at this indie, but I can't remember to what extent luck is involved in world domination. http://www.saschawillems.de/?page_id=114Phase 2 is supposed to be more complex but it's still a WIP

My turn. Hi! Long time pillager (i.e. games downloader), first time member. Gr. in the nickname stands for anything I'm in the mood for. From grim to grinning via grape, green, grasping for more gr- words... Got an author accout over at indiegames but don't post much. Mainly work for this Russian magazine ( http://gamenavigator.ru/ ) as a normal author and a collector of freeware games for a section in DVD supplement. We do write that those games are freely downloadable. We even provide links to home pages when it's possible to find one. Once had to review, take screenshots and prepare for the disk 30 freebies in 2 days. Or was it one day... Also inhabit this area as a flight simmer http://combatace.com/ Pity, there ain't much indie developer activity in that area. FG, YF and that's it... Modders are a different story though. And I'm also a bit deviant http://grviper.deviantart.com/Apart from photos there are drawings there as well... It's a warning.

Love the ship with beams, and the soundtrack Finding the remaining lives' counter took me quite some time though. Maybe it would be easier if the markers were shaped like the player's ship - they look a bit like some of the shapes in the background now. On the other hand maybe it just 'cause I have a cold at the moment.

A roguelike, forbidding the player character do deal damage to the enemies directly? No melee or ranged weapons, no fists, no attack spells... That still leaves tons of options for killing, like summons, necromancy, psyonics, hiring mercenaries, reflecting damage, altering environment, setting traps or (all) the above combined, e.g. buying trapped souls on the black market to put them into found dead bodies of previous adventurers (of different classes), and telling those drones where to go.
