Ah, that's what I figured.  I am definitely up for something.

I would be down if I knew what a love-letter comp was  Grin

Aw, man, I thought this was gonna be about getting high.

He's "consulting" for EA.  And I really don't think you can compare EA to the Medici family.  The Medici's sponsored art & science in an era where there wasn't a lot of that going on...EA just releases shitty, broken games and convinces us we want to buy them.

I think the biggest problem is spending that long on a flash game.  There just aren't a whole lot of monetization options for flash games that take more than a few weeks to make.  Ad revenue from flash ads is so low nowadays, it's ridiculous.

I don't think it's selling out at all, your game has more depth to it than most other flash games, so why not make some money from it?

After you read Brave New World, you should check out Island.

I liked when Starbuck was like "I can do this all day" shooting people...so badass.

I second Mount & Blade.  I bought it for around $15 a few years ago while it was in dev, but I think its $30 now.

I am going to throw this out on the table...I think this last episode of BSG is the best episode yet.

A Panther is a Black Cat - Reginald Major
The Past Through Tomorrow - Robert A. Heinlein

I am personally waiting for Unity 3D to come out with a Windows version.  It does cost some money, but they do have a 30 day trial, and that should be long enough to figure out if it is worth dropping $200 on.

Yeah, way too hard for me, plus the fact that I'm totally not patient enough.  I am also down with some smooth mouse or analog controls.

Bob is more like MDickie, since MDickie has been doing the whole "I am the greatest game developer ever, pale before me" routine for years.  Bob just added aliens.

Maybe he will if I somehow manage to work him into the game I enter.

I can see where the whole "frak" and "godsdamn" thing can get annoying, but it's naive to think that any civilization that isn't ours should talk like ours.  Language is something a lot of sci-fi just glosses over, and I can appreciate BSG at least making an attempt.  They don't do as good of a job as, for instance, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, when showing language differences, but they are consistent.

138  Developer / Technical / Re: Microsoft Dreamspark on: January 27, 2009, 06:57:40 PM
XNA costs $99 a year to make games for Xbox 360, PC dev is free though.
139  Developer / Technical / Re: Microsoft Dreamspark on: January 27, 2009, 04:27:08 PM
You can get XNA 2.0 for free.  While not anywhere near 3.0, it's probably the cheapest way to develop anything for the Xbox 360.

Also... the Ron Moore podcast suggests that there will be baltar cult stuff this episode. (cut out of last episode and moved) Hopefully something interesting happens with that storyline!

Good, because the world needs more cults led by actual scientists.
