It's not bad for a first draft! Well done

I'd say Final Cut. Occasionally I put Animals or the Wall, but I find Final Cut to help me set the mood easier  Smiley. What's yours?

Ugh, I hate The Final Cut. I'll be the first person to admit that Floyd's back catalogue varies wildly in quality (Atom Heart Mother or Ummagumma, anyone?), but The Final Cut is a step too far down the quality ladder for me. I'll listen to pretty much anything from Meddle onwards (except The Final Cut) while I'm working, but mostly I find The Wall to be bizarrely good to work to (I have no idea why - it's not exactly the sort of album that expects to be used as background music, but it works).

Ah, that was my initial reaction to it. Trust me just listen to it once more, you're missing total greatness IMHO. Those are tastes though. Weirdly enough Daft Punk also help me out.

As I said this definitely is a great game, and I felt really bad, when I learned so late about this competition. Despite the framerate, despite the difficulty, its very polished and very addicting!! Grin

This looks absolutely fantastic. I'm also itching for a trailer! Evil

This looks so amazingly amazing, I think I go dirty here and there. Wink
Great skills, and nice find Derek!

@savethedinosaurs: If I were in your friends position, I wonder if I'd be pissed or terribly sad. I offer your friend my hug.

@mintpuffs: Hugs. Life is a funny way, it'll just hit you when you least expect it.

DONKEY KONG COUNTRY - GANK PLANK GALEON
Totally FFIII Terra's theme (or whatever that is called), and Bloody Tears - Castlevania

Okay, allen point taken. If its one thing I'm good at that is remakes.

I got TEH OOZE. And since this is an authentic remake, expect a crash bug on the ending of level 2. Smiley

31  Player / General / Re: Is "solitude" a genre? on: August 13, 2010, 11:26:31 AM
I can't tell if its a genre, but definitely lots of cool games have it.  Smiley

I put a Pink Floyd record that loops endlessly. It helps me focus and write dialogues more easily. Generally I think music is the best way.

Any one in particular? I'm a big Floyd fan and have had a few favourite "work albums" over the years.

I'd say Final Cut. Occasionally I put Animals or the Wall, but I find Final Cut to help me set the mood easier  Smiley. What's yours?
33  Community / A Game by Its Cover / Re: [AGBIC] Star Cats IV on: August 13, 2010, 11:15:05 AM
The Star Cats cartridge is one of my favorites. One of the biggest disappointments of this competition is that it wasn't made into a finished game.

Seconded, I really love that cartridge! Smiley

35  Community / Creative / Re: Expectations [developer question] on: August 12, 2010, 05:18:03 PM
Well, I worked on a game for 2.5 years of my life, so now my expectations are to see if my new graphic style that people seem to like, and my previous experiments on creating solid atmosphere, will finally pull through my vision. Wink

And (in music videos) xxx people are Justin Beiber/Ladygaga fans.

Youtube is just full of 10yr old kids.

It actually seems very fun! Not sure if it will be balanced, but hell DOTA has all those cool moves and its relatively balanced!
38  Jobs / Collaborations / Re: TIGProvement on: August 12, 2010, 11:02:48 AM
I usually get pissed on certain forums "questions-to-avoid-spammers", frankly I don't recall TIG ones to be annoying or something.

Couldn't you just implement a minimum post count or join date before people are allowed to make new topics in certain forums?

That wouldn't make the forum benefit. There are already more than 20.000 members without a single post. And the next 6000 have less than or equal to 10 posts. So I don't think there are lots of spammers. IMHO the moderators are doing a fine job.

Looks so bloody impressive. How long did that take you is anyone's guess. Beer!
40  Player / General / Re: Disgusting behaviour that should be known to all artists. on: August 12, 2010, 09:58:08 AM
I don't know that guy, but its up to the artist to get paid for what he's doing. And its up to their private discussions and agreements to understand who gut f%%&ed or what. If the artist can't defend their work and receive payment, sorry but they just suck so much. Especially for a guy that has so much dirt on him.
