That's pretty cool Farbs, it doesn't look too difficult... I'll have to come up with something easy and give it a shot.

I can't program, so I just TIGer Paint'd the draw function. Here's some sort of pirate ship: -- Startup code goes here function init() end
-- Update loop goes here function update( delta )
--bg draw( 0.273, 0.24, 0.71, 0, 0, 320, 200 ) draw( 0.305, 0.45, 0.49, 0, 65, 320, 70 )
--ship draw( 0.305, 1.00, 0.27, -60, 15, 70, 10 ) draw( 0.305, 1.00, 0.27, -20, 25, 110, 10 ) draw( 0.305, 1.00, 0.27, 0, 35, 110, 10 ) draw( 0.305, 1.00, 0.27, 55, 15, 40, 30 ) draw( 0.305, 1.00, 0.27, 5, -10, 5, 60 ) draw( 0.263, 0.12, 0.94, 5, -10, 45, 34 ) draw( 0.305, 1.00, 0.27, 5, -28, 49, 2 ) draw( 0.305, 1.00, 0.27, 5, -35, 15, 7 ) draw( 0.305, 1.00, 0.27, 5, -45, 1, 10 ) draw( 0.305, 0.45, 0.49, 9, -47, 7, 5 ) draw( 0.305, 1.00, 0.27, -45, -6, 5, 32 ) draw( 0.263, 0.12, 0.94, -45, -4, 30, 11 ) draw( 0.305, 1.00, 0.27, -45, -10, 34, 2 ) draw( 0.305, 1.00, 0.27, -45, -17, 15, 7 ) draw( 0.305, 1.00, 0.27, -45, -27, 1, 10 ) draw( 0.305, 0.45, 0.49, -41, -29, 7, 5 ) draw( 0.305, 1.00, 0.27, 55, -16, 5, 32 ) draw( 0.263, 0.12, 0.94, 55, -15, 30, 11 ) draw( 0.305, 1.00, 0.27, 55, -21, 34, 2 ) draw( 0.305, 1.00, 0.27, 55, -27, 15, 7 ) draw( 0.305, 1.00, 0.27, 55, -37, 1, 10 ) draw( 0.305, 0.45, 0.49, 59, -39, 7, 5 )
end

Surprised people like the rectangle dudes! I'm gonna try and animate these and see how that works out. Is the second one from the left suppose to be the kid from Psychonauts?
Not intentionally, but now that you mention it...The first two were just meant to look vaguely like old-fashioned pilots. Last one is Guybrush though.

Rectangle heads! I quite like this style but the heads might be too squared. I started drawing them in wide pixels so it kinda stuck. ASnogarD: Even though it's meant to be bright yellow industrial, I think those colours might be a bit much. You could probably get away with using less colours if you use shades from yellow -> orange:

Noice, Ravey! It's really odd to see "classic" LeChuck being remade. (i.e.- non-puffy lipped beard-a-blazin' LeChuck)
You might want to have him side-by-side with the other sprite you were making for size comparison once you get to the body. For some reason, I think LeChuck's head (and beard) will dwarf the poor lass.
You may want to make it clearer as to what exactly is coming out of his hat at the back there- I can tell it's some sort of tattered plumage, but if I'm not paying attention, it makes the hat look really odd. Cool, but odd.
Thanks! This version of LeChuck is inspired by artwork from the MI2 boxart & the cancelled movie, both had a darker tone...though obviously this is a different cartoony take on that design. I'm drawing this for a competition, so consider it's seperate from what I've done before. The thing coming out the hat is actually a crow, just like the original design.

I didn't really have anything in mind when I was drawing it, but it would probably be suited to a point and click adventure like Monkey Island... I'll have to try drawing a background of my own.

Thanks. Hopefully I will get around to animating it, though I don't really have any experience there. Do you think it would be better to use more natural black & white shades, rather than having a tinted shade of red over pretty much the whole thing? Like so...

Oh damn, I guess that's my biggest weakness. Might just reduce the line on the arm furthest left, though they're supposed to be somewhat puffed up.

Tried remaking my other sprite and it ended up as something completely different. That's just typical. Anyway...I'm much happier with this style, the details should be easily distinguishable and I tried to keep the other advice in mind.

Quick doodle, although the outline is obviously impractical unless the sitting state is 'activated' because otherwise the outlines would probably get in the way...

2x 4x Anyone see any problems / got any tips? I was going for a slightly top-down look, but I guess that didn't really work out. The dress kinda throws off the perspective that I was going for. Also tried messing around with different colour schemes and adding an outline too, but i'm finding it hard to draw something i'm happy with.
