This is kind of in similar manner as the publisher deal percentages thread, but just about digital distribution.

What I'd like to know - like in the publisher deal percentages thread - is that what kind of percentages have you got for yourselves and what seems to be kind of a standard percentage.
Also would be interesting to know, do you ever see any royalties in this kind of scenario? Apparently in retail, you don't really get any royalties, but I'd guess there's at least a little difference in digital. Or is the up front money still the better option?

Then there's the big question of actual need for a publisher in digital distribution. If you've released a game with a publisher, did you feel that having the publisher helped a lot or was it the opposite? Or something in between? Of course this depends on the publisher, but hearing experiences is what I'm after.

  • Enslaved: Odyssey to the West for Xbox 360
  • Voucher to a bookstore (I'll be using that on some comics Smiley )
  • 2011 Coca-Cola calendar (with some vintage Coca-Cola ads)
  • Chocolate
  • Some ecological frying pan
  • An exercise thingy for my back
  • Clothing
  • Stuff for bed

Then of course some games from Steam for myself. Wink

A lot of 65daysofstatic, God Is An Astronaut & Mono. Yup, been in an instrumental post-rock mood. Smiley

I haven't read that many comics recently. Last buys were Batman: The Long Halloween and Arkham Asylum: A Serious House On Serious Earth. I think Long Halloween is my favorite Batman story so far. I also tried this little graphic novel called The Executor, but it wasn't really anything special.
I'm currently in the middle of Y: The Last Man (5th volume) and Transmetropolitan (6th volume). So far they are awesome.
I especially liked Y: The Last Man's 5th volume. Hopefully I can continue it next month or so.

There are so many comics I'd like to read as I've only been into comics for about few years now. Gentleman

Heh, I almost watched Die Hard tonight and wasn't sure if I was even going to watch it tomorrow night, but now I'm most certainly going to do it. :D

I'm not really that huge Daft Punk fan, but what I've heard of the soundtrack so far, it sounds really cool. So yeah, no matter how good or bad the movie is hopefully there will be one kick ass soundtrack. Hand Thumbs Up Left

I'm really liking the trailers of this. Hopefully it will be as good. Definitely gonna go see it.

Coincidentally I just completed Tron 2.0 (awesome game, by the way) yesterday and then hit the Internet and found the new trailer. Smiley

I kind of randomly started listening to Röyksopp for the first time (at least consciously it was the first time) last weekend and they have pretty much been the only thing I've been listening to now.

New avatar. Shrug
12  Player / General / Re: Inception. (DON'T READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT) on: July 25, 2010, 02:30:28 AM
^ I really liked that theory.

The ending scene (focus on the table and the top) reminded me of Stalker, a lot actually. Which was nice.
13  Player / General / Re: Relaxing Music? on: July 19, 2010, 10:48:24 PM
I like to listen to electronic ambient/down-tempo/trip-hop/idm/whatever when it comes to relaxing music.
Artists like Cybo,

,

(he has free albums on his website), Subheim.
14  Player / General / Re: What aspect ratio is your monitor? on: June 28, 2010, 08:09:12 AM
I have 16:10 and native resolution is 1680x1050. It can do 1280x800, but stupid monitor only allows scaling so no black bars unless the game does it. :/
15  Player / General / Re: Scott Pilgrim vs The World trailer on: June 03, 2010, 01:05:26 AM
Also, that was in volume one, whereas this is trying to condense the first 5 books into one film. They're not gonna pace it as methodically as the books.
Aren't they putting all six books into one film? Though I don't know how much the movie will actually differ from the last book, but I guess you could say all six since Gideon is already in the trailers.
I was kinda surprised that they already showed Gideon. But then again, he's never really identified by name so for average watcher it goes unnoticed.
Anyway, really excited about this movie.  Hand Thumbs Up Left Kiss Hand Thumbs Up Right
16  Developer / Playtesting / Re: A Flash Technology Test on: April 08, 2010, 04:45:25 AM
The test crashed after this part:
size: 1500
creating blank image
preparing shader
starting shader completed succesfully

But the actual Flash worked now. On school computer that is. In the morning at home it said something about being site locked. I'll check again when I get home.

Edit: sitelocked was caused by bFilter.
School computer gave solid 50 fps when there was like 6-10 enemies. After that it started to go down.
This home computer gives about 20 fps without enemies.

That Flash test goes through without problems.
