My other game probably wont take me that long to finish, then I’ll go back to working on this, and try making it so you can at least fly around a single planet if not around others.

Its coded in C++ using my own library wich in turn uses OpenGl. It contains classes to simplify the math, such as vector addition, rotation and matrix multiplication and inversion.

This is my second entry as my other game might take too long to finish.

Photon trap is a Tron Light Cycle style game where ships move along the inside surface of a sphere. Its not the trails that you’ll be colliding with, but mines dropped by ships at regular intervals, so you’ll be able to dodge in-between them.

I’m beginning to think there’s too much work to do to finish this game before the deadline, so I’m going to work on a simpler game. Then when that’s finished I’ll see how much of this I can get done.

Yep that’s right! The plan is that you’ll be able to destroy cities with an ‘independence day’ style super weapon! Evil

I’ve gotten the code for the Multi Function Displays working. The left MFD is showing a bird’s eye view from a camera on the bottom of the ship (currently over a launchpad), and the right MFD is a view from a drone camera. As you can see I have also written a simple city generating algo.

Hitman: Codename 74

After saving the life of your father and genetically identical brothers, you travel around the world to give medical treatment to injured philanthropists such as anti-gun and drugs campaigners and bomb disassembles. Along the way you renounce your extensive weapons collection by selling them on the black market.

On your journey you find an unusual number of bodies that have been stripped down to their underwear and dumped in strange places, such as dumpsters and sewers. Being the nice guy you are, you decide to dress them up in your clothes, dressing your self up in a nearby conveniently placed pile of clothes. You then proceed to prop up their corpse and revive them with your magical piano wire of healing love.

Ooo! I like the rendering style of the terrain.

I’ve gotten around to working on the interface, and have created the controls for the ships power-plant which consists of a gas turbine starter generator and a fusion reactor.

As you can see the ship is going to end up with a somewhat complicated start-up procedure.

here's the demo

I’ve put together a small tech demo. The terrain rendering is highly inefficient at the moment, its drawn using lots of gl_quads. I’ll probably change this to something like rendering to a texture.

Controls
WASD – Pan camera
R,F – Zoom in and out.

I made an improvement to the terrain generation so that it now creates different surface types such as grass/forests, sand and lava. The lava and water are also animated using some old school colour cycling.

I’ve also worked on the procedural generation of the stars, planets and moons.

The planets here cant be seen as they are hundreds of times smaller than the star.

Yes I was thinking something like that, only going one step further and using a similar algorithm to the terrain generation to create the structure for super galactic clusters.

I’ve coded a prototype of the terrain generator that will be used for planet surfaces.

And here is a mockup of what the planet would look like…

You are in command of an alien Mothership on a mission to colonize other planets. The game will be entirely mouse driven, with the ship controlled through levers and buttons in same style as submarine sims.

Tech Demo (planet and stars are currently rendered very inefficiently)

The game will be coded in C++, and will feature pseudo-3D graphics.

Here’s a quick mock-up I’ve drawn..

Hi
I’m from Wales in the UK. I like doing all things game development wise... art, music and coding. I’ve made a few games in C++ using OpenGl for the graphics.

I joined to enter the Cockpit Compo, its was just too intriguing to resist.
