I just got word that I have to travel to Malmö next week. I've never been to the Nordic Game convention before, so I don't know what to expect. Anyone been there? Anyone going there this year? Any indies living in the area? If there are any other indies there, I'd love to setup a meeting and go grab couple of beers.

I would call for some copyright infringement if I was him.
Thank god that no one can hold the copyright for a gameplay idea! There would be only one Jump'n'run, 1st person shooter, rpg (franchise/developer). That would be horrible. There would be only a handful of monopolists cranking out iterations of the same shitty games (Now that's sounds a bit like mainstream gaming, but it would definitely worse than it is now because there would be no competition and most importantly no indies). I agree with Tinarg. You can't copyright gameplay, but unfortunately you can patent gameplay mechanisms and that really sucks. There are already some gameplay patents and they're hurting game development (loading screen games are patented, the arrow pointing to the next goal in driving games is patented...). You can read more about it here. It kinda always stings a little when I see another clone of the game. Mostly because of the lack of innovation. There are lots of stuff that could be explored with the basic interface / mechanism, but no one has gone there yet. Which is sad Anyway, I'm not too worried about the clones. Even in the ultimate worst case scenario, which is that someone publishes a greatly superior clone to Crayon Physics Deluxe and because of that I can't sell a single copy of the game, and when I release my game people write on the forums: "this is just a clone of that game"... Even then I haven't really lost anything. The development of the game has actually been a profitable business; Thanks to the 20 000$ from IGF. It's not like I can lose any money on this I'm not making games to make money. I just have to make money to be able to make games. *) *) I ripped that quote from some youtube video about bboying...

Thanks guys! I think the lack of replies is because of the uninteresting name and pretty boring looking screenshots.
Or it could be that I've insulted the Tigs community and it's giving me the silent treatment in return.

Why would Massena kill off jstickr if he had been voting for him? That would just attract attention. As far as jstickr "knowing" that there were two wolves, that's just absurd. He simply wasn't very observant.. I actually agree with Blademasterbobo. It seems highly unlike that Massena would have killed jstickr, because of the attention it draws to him. Also it's weird that the werewolves killed off one of the prime suspects. Wouldn't it be better from their point of view if there were plenty of wrongly accused normal people? I suspect that the reason why jstickr was killed was either as a revenge or because he knew something and got too close to discovering the identity of the werewolves. jstickr suspected Fishymuffin and Ninjascience... *Flips a coin* Fishymuffin it is!

*As the sun sets down a young gentleman arrives from a long journey*
MEIN GOTT, what in name of the lord has happened here? And why are you all pointing fingers at each other? Shouldn't we just calm down and think this trough reasonably... Clearly Massena is the one responsible for all the murdering. Because he's been all too quite, except to make small remarks to raise mob mentality. Clearly he has to be a werewolf, trying to frame innocent people.

During the GDC somebody tipped me that Owl Country was being developed there. I thought it was more of a joke kinda thing, but man... This is pretty awesome. The production quality is way beyond what I expected.
I hope there will be even more collaborations in the near future.

Wow That was awesome. I'm happy that you didn't go through with your first plan of creating a tool that would allow people to play VGNG outputs I'm not sure if I'm allowed to vote, with my game being in the competition and all, but if I am then you sir, will get my vote!

This is basically a mass up game. I massed in Scorched Earth with Space Invaders and Missile Command. The Small-Time in the title refers to the development process Download: scorched_release1.zip (6.2 MB)You play as the scorched earth tank and your job is to defend the earth from space invaders. Move with "A" and "D", aim with mouse and fire with left mouse button. Space invaders and your rockets will do damage to earth if they hit the planet. Try to survive as long as you can. The game was coded mostly during the last day of the competition, on a laptop which I normally don't use.

So can you please change the title, as it's making me feel really embarrassed for stealing all the attention Well, next time, think about it before you win the grand prize at igf mister! I hope this serves you as a good lesson... :D I knew there was something horribly negative about winning the grand prize. I should have just said "I'm too indie for the grand prize" and walk off stage. The gametrailers tv also featured some indies (me, Mårten and Darren (of Iron Dukes fame)). I wish they would have shown some more games though...
