Oh fuck! I just realized I need to get some business cards made for GDC.

I'm sure I'm gonna forget this one. Then I'll be at GDC going "I'm so indie that I don't have a business card"

Hahhah.

This would be so appropriate, if you changed the archaeologists to web servers :D

Apparently they suspended the site, but they haven't told me why. I tried emailing them but they haven't replied. Assholes.

Probably. I'm a casualty of war.

I found the problem why my site isn't up. It's because the wordpress tables have been corrupted. I'm currently trying to fix them. If anyone reading this has any real experience in fixing corrupted MySQL tables... I could really use your help.
205  Player / Games / Re: What happened to Kloonigames? on: January 25, 2008, 02:05:53 AM
Don't ask me. I don't have a clue.

Apparently my SQL tables were wiped clean, by an exploit or by my ISP. They upgraded the MySQL to a newer version and I haven't been able to access my SQL tables after that. I tried asking them if they could help me out, but they said that there's a DOS attack going on at the server I'm on and that they'll help me after it's finished. So I'm kinda just waiting for them to help me out.

If nothing happens today I'll upload some old SQL back up I have and get the basic stuff running. But I kinda like it when the site is down. There's much less email in my inbox Smiley

Super Monster!

It's a Gamera movie made totally out of previous Gamera movies' action scenes! It's 90 minutes of giant monsters humping each other. It's brilliant.

Turkish Star Wars!!!

This movie is like the Zoo Race of scifi movies, without the religious undertones.

Tiger Sauce is shit we will be drinking all Sunday!

If it lives up to it's reputation, I'm happy if I'm sober on Wednesday when I have to start booth babeing Crayon Physics Deluxe.

I'll also be there from 16th to 23rd. I'll probably have to spend most of my time at the IGF booths, so I don't get to see that many lectures. Which sucks. Unless I go with the elaborate potato sac plan....

When people start realizing how brilliant the potato sac scheme is, there won't be anything else but games and potato sacs at the IGF booths.

The game is really sweet. I would have bought it, if the purchase link would have worked  Cry

Anyhow, the game is like made for Fantomas. The rapid changes in tempo really make the game shine.

Also it's extremely cool with Herb Alpert's Zobra the Greek. Also Spike Jones seems to work pretty nicely.

I'm so indie that I consider tigsource to be too mainstream.
213  Player / Games / Re: TIGS community games featured on PC Gamer coverdisc (img heavy) on: January 03, 2008, 03:40:20 PM
Big thanks to haowan for scanning these. Apparently the PC Gamer editors are avid readers of TIG.

My only complaint is that they should have mentioned Gamma 256 in the Bloody Zombies article. Gamma 256 being the sole reason why that game was ever made.
214  Player / General / Re: Star Control II on: January 02, 2008, 10:56:56 AM
I assume everybody knows this already: http://sc2.sourceforge.net/

But if that links even gets one more person to play the game, my work is done.

215  Developer / Technical / Re: Scripting? on: December 29, 2007, 07:32:21 AM
Also every real programmer writes at least one new scripting language...

(I don't recommend doing that if you want your game done, but it's a good learning progress).

Creepy Christmas TIGers!

Expert Psychobilly Freakout is where I quit.

Freya on expert did it for me. Or is doing it for me. I still try to crack from time to time, but I can't find the motivation to practice it. I've beaten the songs in the next category on expert, so I think that Freya is really in the wrong category...

Also now playing: Frank Zappa - Camarillo Brillo

Woohoo \o/ Crayon Physics Deluxe also made it in! Awesome!

Also congrats Chris and Matt and all the other student showcasers. Can't wait to meet you guys. I was also rooting for Space Barnacle, so I'm a bit sad, because it didn't make it to the finals.

Petri.. I have never seen a game get in both the Main and Student Comps. Wow! Awesome!

Synaesthete is also (rightfully so) a main finalist and a student showcaser.

58% through 'Crazy on You' on Guitar Hero 2 on Expert

AAGHH

and I thought Freya was hard...

Wait till you have to play Psychobilly Freakout and Carry Me Home...
220  Community / Competitions / Re: Ludum Dare 10! on: December 20, 2007, 09:48:18 AM
This was my first Ludum Dare and it was a fun experience. The 48 hour restrict was something I really liked. And it was actually refreshing to see how little framework you need to do a proper prototyping.

I made this game in 48 hours: M3 - Molesting the Match-3 Market.

I've been checking out some of the entries and my favorite of the one's I've tested is rale's Boostcraft.
