2  Community / Townhall / Official Flipper trailer #2 released! on: June 17, 2009, 04:00:26 PM
Hey guys,

I’m still working very hard on Flipper, an awesome puzzle-adventure game for DSi-ware!
And I wanted to let you guys know I’ve just released the second trailer :

I’ve also started a twitter page that I update daily with dev stuff :

http://www.twitter.com/HugoSmits

If you haven’t heard of flipper, this is what it’s all about :

It’s a game build upon my true 3D voxel engine, this allows for some really dynamic worlds. The player wakes up
one day to find his goldfish (named Flipper) missing. It is up to you to rescue it! In every level you need to
reach your goldfish. There are various obstacles in your way, and you get around them by changing the world (with powerups).

For example : if there’s a wall, you can blow it up. If you can’t reach a platform, you can build a staircase.

The levels start out simple but get harder along the way. Eventually there will be monsters in them as well!
The levels are spread out over multiple worlds. Each world has its own theme. At the end of each world you’ll
get to play a cool minigame (that makes use of one of the powerups).

All the controls work through the touch-screen. If you want to move the player to a certain point, just tap!
If you want to use a powerup; just hold the L-button and tap!
3  Player / Games / Flipper! for Nintendo DSi-ware. on: April 06, 2009, 12:05:15 PM
Hey guys,

I was working on a 'triple A' cardridge title for a publisher.
But then the publisher went bankrupt thanks to the financial crisis.
So that sucked pretty hard. However I just believe holy in the game
and I’m determined to make sure the game sees the light of day!

The game is a puzzle-adventure game where the player needs to use powerups
to modify the landscape to his advantage. More info screens and trailer can be found here :

P.S:

I’m kinda new to the indie game dev scene (I mostly worked for big companies as a 3D lead tech programmer),
I did play a lot of indie games in my lunch break over the years. However, I don’t know the ‘hot spots’ on
the web for the indie scene. I was hoping somebody could point out some big sites like this.
So I can spread the word about the game, and hopefully get to know some really interesting  people Smiley
