Thanks for the advice--I completely understand where you are coming from. I've been working on this for months, and I am going to keep going at it to hopefully be one of the rare developers who finishes. Thanks again. I was foolish.

True, but my bigger point at it is that I don't actually like NES sounds and real instruments mixed together.

Okay, take this from an actual chipscene bro here.

Real instruments and your chip instruments sound weird together. I liked the first climb song. Are you sure you don't want to go with a full 8-bit approach? If so, use Famitracker, which creates offical NES music you can play on a real NES too. I use that and it's a easy to use program.

You're 14. Why d'you need external money to make a game? If the sheer pleasure of making a game isn't enough reason to make a game at that age, then you shouldn't be making games.

so true. games aren't about making money. it should only come along with it. your heart must be into making the game even if you're not getting paid or just getting a little. if you give your 110% effort on a game that has NO pay, it will say something about your character from now on and you will most likely be recommended a lot.

Well, I'm planning to most likely make the game having to be bought, as you see, it is multiplayer and I am putting a large amount of effort into it. In the end, you won't be able to tell it was made by a teenager--it'll look professional.

I'm not getting paid at the moment--I'm not getting paid at all to make the game at the moment in fact! But, to make the game as good as it can be, I'll probably need to hire musicians, more 3D artists, and perhaps texture designers. I have the programming, design, and almost everything else covered. I may not even need a musician.

Point is, I'm making this game because I always wanted to make a game like this, and while it is not ready for the public to see just yet, you will see that it is worth paying for. Although I may start a devlog to raise hype. It's not my first game, by the way, I've made many (that aren't exactly public, mostly for local community) and I'm actually in a game development class right now.

Great, I'm 14, and developing a game, and these people have more experience than me. If you think they are silly, am I even going to get a backing? Or is it just that they haven't shown pretty much any game at all. I've only been looking at the first page so far though

geez vincent sure is socially awkward even on the internet, but you're all kinda being douches to him

Just my opinion. I mean, he's a decent spriter (better than I'll ever be, anyways)

Here's my short looping attempt. It's missing the small vocal clips that Hideki Naganuma usually peppers throughout his tracks, but I think I replicated his style well besides that. The most important step was recording a funky bassline (which I kinda cribbed off of sneakman as you'll hear) then chopping it up and bitcrushing a bit to make it sound sampled.

Did I get his style down for the most part?

Yeah! I could get the sampling down easily, it's the composition that is hard. I was working on a Back 2 Back remix but it sounds nothing like his composition. How did you make this so good? And further yet, can I add samples to it?

Incase you don't know who he is, I can give you links. Is anyone able to mimic his style of music? I'd love it for my new game, and if enough people think they can, I could start a contest...or something. Or maybe I'd learn how to do it myself--I listen to that stuff 24/7 so I kinda know how, but at the same time, I'd have to learn the programs to do it. I use Famitracker mostly. Anywho...
