Here's the start of an outline for Doppler's title screen graphic

I made a thread in the workshop if anyone is interested in giving me a bit of cc.

722  Developer / Workshop / Doppler Title Graphic Log on: August 07, 2011, 08:27:39 PM
Hey dudes,

I started a graphic for the title screen of my game, Doppler. I'll be doing an edit every day and keeping a progress log here until it's done.

Current Version Edit#1 Mag2x

Introducing Professor Maritime, Isobar, and Foehn.

Actual size if you'd like to provide an edit

I'm pretty new to pixeling, so any advice/edits would be great.

Take care!

7-11. For snacks and caffeine sure, but I woke up around 5am yesterday super sick and they were the only thing open. I got some flu meds and OJ. I passed on the pizza and go-go taquitos  Hand Thumbs Down Right.

Doppler lives!

On the gif site I was using, it only let me upload a limited amount of frames it changed the quality of the image. If anyone can suggest a free gif animator I'd appreciate it  Droop

A huge Deastro Playlist.

I LOVE when that happens! I've woken up from dreams where I heard some haunting melody or was singing strange lyrics and was able to record it on my phone. One of the recordings was me half asleep singing about growing old(I'm only 21). It seemed so profound and simple in my dream but when I listened to it in the morning, the verse was very cryptic and strange. The Beatle's song "Yesterday" came to Paul McCartney in a dream and he had thought he heard it somewhere else previously, so he delayed recording it for awhile. The human mind rocks.

I think the honey was bad. It tasted like someone put every spice in my spice cabinet into my tea.
Bummer man. That's the only way I roll.

Just made a little tutorial text script with some sweet fades.

Finished all the levels/cutscenes for my game "Doppler" today! I'm working on the title/end screen and the music now.

Here's a preview of the 1st level-

Man, that's stunning. Can't wait to see it in motion.

At start up I get a blank white screen and hear the music, then it crashes when I try to click anything.  Concerned

I just entered the productive zone.  Hand Pencil
733  Developer / Playtesting / Re: Quasar, a sci-fi adventure game (beta version) on: August 01, 2011, 02:58:53 PM
Hey Radiant, This is pretty sweet!

Here's what I'm feelin' so far:

Pros:

+this really appeals to me. I'm a sci-fi junkie
+the background art looks great
+it's nice to see more realistic proportions
+the story seems interesting so far and the dialogue had me chuckling to myself
+The music sets the mood well
+I loved how I could right click anywhere in a room and get there instantly.

Cons:

-I'm not really digging the character sprites.
-I can't exit this menu

I usually shy away from point and click adventure games, but this is rad.
734  Developer / Technical / Re: Image_alpha problem on: July 31, 2011, 11:07:40 AM
Player Object

[collision w/ enemy event]
{
     image_alpha=.5;
     alarm[0]=5;
}

[alarm 0 event]
{
     image_alpha=1;
}

image_alpha works in the lite version. Make sure there isn't anything in the player's step event(or any other object's step event) that makes the player's image_alpha=1 every step. That should work.

Thanks madflame and Spooner for the great cc. It was funny seeing this bumped. I'm busy finishing up another project but it'll really help when I revisit this concept.  Smiley

saw a friends band play tonight at a local bar. Great rock instrumentals.

Thanks antymattar, but This was my first attempt at making a game so I'm afraid to go back and sort through all the messy code. Maybe I'll make a spiritual sequel in the future. In the meantime, let's play some KAG  Wink

@Cactus - I'm really digging the first song. Where can I check out your band's other stuff?

Cleaning up a ton of messy code for a level event controller and condensing it into some nifty little scripts.

Only hindsight can tell. Depends if you catch something and who you're fishing with. I've had a good time fishing with a few buddies even when we didn't catch anything.

What is the answer to life, the universe, and everything?
