Gurren Lagann is the only anime anyone needs I've been meaning to watch K-ON. ... It's embarrassing watching these kinds of animu when my parents/brother are around Who cares if someone see it. As long as you are enjoying it, the rest doesn't matter And Gurren Lagann rocks!

Just stuff. Idk my moms logic is wacky. Now shes ignoring me even though I apologized to her. Yargh.
Tell me. My mom prefers the boring office work than the game development work. Every time she see me in my laptop, she said that i'm playing videogames, even if sometimes i'm drawing or reading some stuff At least she doesn't ignore me...

Let's see it in that way: - Put your game concept like the "objective" to reach (without him, your game is trash)
- The brainstorming give you the features. That features take it like the "workers" (the people who work in team to reach the "objective")
- Now, evaluate the "workers". If someone doesn't give value to the game (like they have poor performance and/or doesn't help in the "objective"), then delete it and forget about it.
And always remember this. More "workers" means more money cost and more time in the development, all right? I hope that i helped you. Success with your game!

I think Minecraft is a ARPGES (Action RPG Exploration Sandbox) because is in first person, in real time, really big terrain, and have some RPG features like crafting and leveling.

Developer / Business / Re: Why experienced game developers goes indie?

Even if i have never been an employee in the game industry, i understand it because i was working in a retail company. Working overtime without the time to take care ourself is really destructive. Always eating fast food and losing classes for work... So that why i want to be an indie game developer: to take care of my own time (and for the love for games ). Even if right now i'm learning the basics, i prefer that road than the other one. But i need a financial support for that. So i will take a part-time job to fund myself and been a part-time indie developer for the time being. Just like Notch was

Because I'm incredibly insecure @Shackhal: does the .gmk work for you?
Also, there are several ways to achieve this effect, as explained by Paul Eres in this thread (so don't give up hope!):
Unfortunately, i can't use it because i have the lite version for now But i'll check the Paul Eres' explanation. Let see if works...

What do you think of our game name? It is "Junk Jack". We quite like it.
The name "Junk Jack" give me the impression that is a game about a man/robot who lives in a dumpster and recycles everything that find useful... But what's the real story from this game?

Prepping the .gmk for you; brb in like 2 hours. (sLight is the name of the sprite; i label it the same way Derek Yu did in Spelunky, ie I put an s in front of every sprite label, and an o in front of every object label) EDIT: Download lighting example.gmk from Host-A-Nettook less time then i thought the actual sprite i made for the 'glow' effect is somewhat lackluster (haha), but the general idea is there Basically what you're doing is creating a surface drawn over the entire screen, then subtracting portions of it to mimic lighting. Appreciated!
