The show is funny and well-animated and has good characters. Those are good things, right? Things that would make you want to watch a show.

It's not ironic. You remember Powerpuff Girls, maybe? And how that show was okay, yet a girly cartoon? This is like that except way better animated and written, but it unfortunately uses a brand that is the absolute essence of little girliness. The show is great, but because of the brand, any discussion of it will always turn into this thread exactly. It's not like everyone's going to watch it, and everyone who doesn't will naturally be very skeptical.
Buying the toys is still kinda weird.

Mulpfum rules. What an awesome show. If only it were not based on an incredibly embarrassing and terrible brand.

Two awesome artists signed on thus far, this is really cool.
A few quick things: One, if you already know the BPM of your tracks, that would be helpful, though I can find it myself without too much trouble. Two, you can just email me at my listed email address for this account with either .mp3 attachments or download links, that's the easiest way to send me your stuff. Thanks, all.

Developer / Audio / Contribute Music for a New Rhythm Game

I'm now nearly finished with a Flash Rhythm Game called Eurhythmia that should be released around June 30th. There's plenty of my own music in the game (I'm honestly more a composer than a game developer), but I'd like to open up the game for submissions here on TIGSource. I know there are a lot of musicians here who post a portfolio and hope someone will listen to their work, and I'd like one major purpose of this rhythm title to be creating exposure for some indie musicians.
If you have any music (with a consistent BPM) you'd like in a rhythm game on Kongregate, send me an .mp3 and any art you may want coupled with the title and I'll give each artist their own page so that gamers know whose music they're listening to as they play. Hopefully this can be a nice showcase of the talent here in the indie community.

Finally got around to seeing Lost Highway recently. It was great.
I'm a huge Lynch fan but I can't say I really understood that one on my first (and only, thus far) viewing. Didn't stop me from enjoying it or anything, but still. Mulholland Drive on the other hand I felt like I understood after thinking about it for a night or two.

I have to say Stencyl has been really enjoyable for me thus far. After making one throw-away maze game as a sort of personal tutorial, I feel I've really got a good hold on the interface, so now I'm starting on this strategy game idea I've had for several months now. This is a really exciting tool.

I can contribute short music tracks for competition entries, since I'm making a disc of demos for game soundtracks right now anyway. I work largely in electronic music, but I play acoustic guitar and piano and can work (to varying degrees of quality) in any other basic genres.
PM me, y'all.

Developer / Audio / Re: How to get a game name announcer voice?

I have a high-quality mic setup and can record some voice files for your game, and even edit them how you like if you need someone to do that for you. If all you need is the voice without editing, I can easily have it done in 24 hours. Otherwise, shouldn't take too long.
People may enjoy your accent more, though, your decision.

That's a great track, AMT. I thought the piano got a bit limp when it's nearly solo partway through, my ears were hoping for the keys to be hit a bit harder as the melody climbed up. Otherwise, beautiful arrangement and everything. And I enjoyed listening to your old work as well.

This thread has a lot of potential, that brought about some good stuff. So I'll try setting another challenge:
Make a Theme Song for a Sci-Fi Action Game In 3/4 Time (Like a Waltz)
I'm having a hard time imagining what that would sound like without going full-on Blue Danube in 2001 A Space Odyssey, but I'd like to see what people can come up with.

Diggin' Ariel Pink's "Before Today" at the moment. I actually only figured out about Pink through his semi-mentor and (wrongly) much less popular songwriter
. Stevie's been putting out basically five albums' worth of awesome songwriting a year since the 60's, and currently has near-homelessness to show for it.

fred
Has anyone met any real-life Fred fans? I'm starting to theorize that his entire popularity is just people who watch his videos to get angry about how popular his videos are. And on a larger note, children's shows now rarely have likeable characters for some reason. It's like everyone forgot that characters don't have to be annoying to have character. Adventure Time is the only new cartoon I've seen that has characters I don't immediately hate.
