4  Community / Townhall / GamesRage Indie Bundle on: July 29, 2013, 02:11:20 AM
There's a pretty sweet bundle over at http://gamesrage.org/

You can have 5 great indie games for pay-what-you-want price.

The games are all made by polish indie developers:

King's Arthur Gold - a sandbox 2D pixel-art game
Cinders - visual novel with stunning graphics
Odd Planet - a great physics based platformer
Nightmares from the Deep - point and click adventure
The Few - RTS about the Battle of Britain (made by us;)

The current average price is around $3 for the whole bundle - I would call it a deal of the lifetime (Cinders itself cost $30).
5  Community / Townhall / Some totally free game assets from Scoreoid.com on: July 21, 2013, 04:21:06 PM
There's a special promotion over at Scoreoid.com, where they give away a pack of game assets (graphics, fonts, sounds) for free (even if you would like to use it commercially).
Well - technically you need to "pay" for it with a tweet.
You can check it out at http://scoreoid.net/community-promotion/

The Few is available now! After long months of development - we give you the option to actually buy and play The Few! We still plan to add gadzillion things to the game, but guess what? All the upgrades and future dlc's will be totally FREE for everybody who would buy the game. (do I have to mention we're NOT planning to add any kind of micro-transations there?). Currently The Few is available at:

609th Squadron fighting against 9 Ju-87 (managed to wipe them clean, but lost 3 Hurricanes - thankfully all three pilots bailed out in time)

Hi

My name is Robert, I run a BlackMoon Design (http://blackmoondev.com) indie game studio.

We're in the process of finishing a realtime strategy game called "the Few".
It depicts the Battle of Britain - the aerial combat for Britain during the WWII.

The player decides both about strategic choices (which planes to build, where to send reinforcements, where each squadron should fly on patrol) as well as tactic battles.

Here's a strategic map screenshot:

And a sneak-peak of how the tactical part look like:

The game is developed with Adobe AIR (Flash basically) and will be released for iOS (both iPhone and iPad version), PC/Mac and possibly for BB Playbook, Android and Kindle Fire.
We plan to release the game by the end of September 2012.

Here's the video from the early development version gameplay:

I'll keep this post updated with new info about the game - in the meantime (if you would like to show us some support;) - you can "like" the Few page at Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Few/403159003080042

Shoot me a reply, facebook message or tweet @blackmoondev if there's anything you would like to know about this game.

This isn't a criticism of your game (which I like), but I wouldn't consider sub-3-stars on Kongregate to be "well met".

True - the thing I meant is that the game got rather low score without clear reason (as most of the comments were positive and people generally "liked" the game - just like you said:)

1. We were so focused on releasing the iOS version that we let go with the Flash sponsorship really. It was up for about two weeks.
2. We tried that with two games (for iOS and for BlackBerry) it didn't really work the way we hoped.

Let me know if you would have more questions:)
