Eep, that's a Game Maker issue that pops up in locales where the comma is the decimal separator. I'll tell Tekno about it.
I also had this error message and messed up graphics, but an easy workaround ( in XP at least ) is to change your locale to English ( United States ). This is how to do it. Takes less than a minute: http://www.eclipsecrossword.com/help-system-locale-xp.html
I registered here just to share this bit of information many people might already know. Haven't played this game yet, but it sure seems promising, so it's a shame if this little problem keeps someone from trying it.
