Lead Developer: Contract Position

Position Overview
Independent game studio is seeking Lead Developer for 2D PC/Console title (see: avirusnamedtom.com). As a key member of the creative team, you’ll have the opportunity to help design and implement solutions for all aspects of the game.

Must Have:
•   Availability to start immediately
•   Proficiency with C# or similar languages
•   Experience in object-oriented design, implementation, and refactoring
•   Demonstrated knowledge of good software programming practices
•   Ability to adapt to pre-existing code base
•   Project management skills demonstrated by the ability to define tasks in a well organized manner, based on proper resource and time management
•   Ability to foster and work in a dynamic and collaborative team environment
•   Demonstrates dependability and commitment to projects/tasks
•   Ability to rapidly produce
•   Work well independently
•   Work well with remote team members

Key Responsibilities
•   In charge of the programming of a large section of the game
•   Drives decisions on what technologies to use (e.g., file formats, middleware, etc.)
•   Works closely with the other leads on the Art, Design, and Production teams
•   Drives the analysis of design issues
•   Must be able to fill in and code various parts of the game and help out other members of the team as needed
•   Helps Production develop schedules and determine milestones

Nice To Have:
•   Previous video game titles
•   Console experience
•   Experience developing multiplayer games
•   Networking
•   Fluency with graphics tools such as Photoshop, After Effects, Maya, etc.
•   Avid gamer with a passion for creating top-quality games
