Presumably, Tim Langdell can't bear to part with them.
He doesn't seem to keen on actually selling any games, does he? Grin

Well he sold one and look how that turned out...

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH

I keep getting so close. SO CLOSE.
223  Player / Games / Re: Mobigame's Edge pulled because of the word Edge on: September 20, 2009, 03:37:17 PM
so ya Tim resigns and we declare victory and all stop caring now?

That's just what he wants

Yeah and I want to play Edge dagnabbit. Assuming the soundtrack of the game is as awesome as the music in the trailer.

Which is a pity. I'm half tempted to put something EDGEy in my game just so I can fight for it. But I'm too poor and lazy.

Today is going to be awesome.

I would like some checkpoints please.

To contact you in a 3rd place haha.

I find it very fun and I'm not sure about the difficulty because I'm using a laptop trackpad and with slow and deliberate movements I got pretty far before I got annoyed with having to use slow deliberate movements and jumped off.

It's still beautiful though.

This is not mine. It is my girlfriend's.

We want feedbacks :>

Sound effects are in. They are a bit ugly and the enemies don't handle them quite right but the code is there so I'll fix that soon.

I also made a few changes to the way hats are handled to allow for hats of different sizes.

You can now hold down X to shoot continuously.

Added some silly names :>

Sounds are actually on today's agenda... It is pretty unoptimised. Lots of creating and destroying of objects. I can fix that pretty easily though so I'll have a stab at that to.

Edit: Having said that the final build might be a download anyway. I'll see what I can do in any case I think but premature optimisation is evil and all that Tongue

It is obviously still being worked on.

Z is jump.

X is shoot.

It started as a silly commentary on how in games you kill hundreds of nameless henchmen but that seemed depressing so I added some hats and now really it is all going off the rails.

The hats represent your health.

More hats will be coming soon.

Hahaha. I found that absolutely delightful. Thank you good sir for making my evening.

This is gorgeous and survival games are second in my dream project list so I am looking forward to stealing your ideas.

Oh man this game has manatees in it? I'll totally download it next time I'm in windows. Unless I missed that it is web based.

Edit: Learnt to read. Trying.

Ok given that it is like 2am and I only really care about the manatees I am not sure my opinion is valid but what the hey.

This looks like something I definitely need to invest more time into. I mean seriously I discovered like 3 races so I am clearly lacking some basic understanding of what is going on. I am determined to find out though.
235  Developer / Playtesting / Re: Game Name Clinic - I will rate your game's name on: August 31, 2009, 10:39:00 AM
I had an idea for a game called Cancer Fight!

But that died in the water.

I'm making a platforming shooter called Soldier's Choice.

Because you have to choose whether you're going to kill Barry Jenkins, husband and father of two, or let him kill you. Possibly desertion will be an option too.

Well I assumed there was glorious sound.

I just wanted to make sure.

I made sure by plugging in headphones and cranking that shit up.

I was sure.
237  Community / Townhall / Re: Canabalt (my first EGP entry!) on: August 31, 2009, 02:40:52 AM
Haha, wow that was more addictive than I expected. I completely forgot to turn my volume up though. Was there sound or did I miss nothing?
238  Community / DevLogs / Re: Omnicar!!! on: August 30, 2009, 03:04:18 PM
Yeah I know it is ambitious that is why I am plotting it perfectly on paper before I even think about putting anything into action. To be honest knowing me I'll forget the idea even exists before I come close to formulating a solid plan but we'll see.
239  Community / Creative / Re: Your biggest obstacle to create a game? on: August 30, 2009, 08:06:52 AM
Overambitious and undermotivated and often overinspired.

That is to say I will have about 50 brilliant ridiculously complicated and daunting ideas in the space of 5 minutes.

well maybe if they learned american instead of that goddamn squiggle language

This is possibly the most beautiful thing I have read in a long time.
