Interesting game. You've got a good concept going with the freeze ray / guy combination puzzles. With some graphical polish, you just about have a finished game.

I think that the broken camera that Sir Raptor is talking about, is the fact that some levels start off with the camera hiding areas below by being set too high above the player. It fixes itself if you jump up and down a few times. The camera should start more centered to prevent that issue.

Don't be discouraged by harsh critics. They are everywhere. Instead, try to see past the sarcasm or anger to the problems that they are trying to describe.

Good luck with your game!

Thanks! I agree with you; I will look into it. It may sound like I am only looking for compliments, which is not the case. I am in the market for some constructive criticism, which I guess I can derive from his post. I still don't understand what he meant about the lava though...

How far did you get into the game? Obviously you weren't really even paying attention if you didn't notice all of the changes, let alone the superficial ones. If the camera is "broken", what is wrong with it? No one has really answered that. The main character is a giraffe. How could that be anymore exciting without changing the entire premise of the game? How is the lava "Fake Difficulty"? Obviously, this is not the place to go for suggestions. It is the place to have someone ruin your day with their sarcasm.

The final boss is completed! All I need to do is replace a couple of the placeholder graphics and finish up the end game. Since I am about to go gold, can I have some last-minute testers please? Thanks!

I added a ton of stuff to Laser Giraffes, including sounds and music. When you have time, could you please test it again? Thanks!

I added most of your suggestions and all but the last level. I also put in sounds and tons of graphical improvements. I would love it if you would give it another chance!

Thanks again! You had lots of valuable feedback about some elements I need to add, like more feedback  Big Laff. I will work on the camera more. I still haven't decided what the crystals should do, and most later levels haven't had them added yet.

He has to hit the lava 7 times to die. Should it be fewer? I am going to texture and re-render the giraffe later, but that is a finishing touch. I made the level with the intentional lava hit before I made bouncy spider webs, so I guess I should switch that out. Does the camera really need to be even tighter? Thanks for playing.

This guy really works! He played all the levels in my game and gave me really helpful suggestions! I would recommend trying him, but not until he is done with my game.  Grin

Thanks for playing the game! I made the camera follow the giraffe more tightly, so I would appreciate if you would play again and tell me if it should be even tighter. Hmm, I have play tested the levels and they weren't too hard for me. The "deathtrap" is an artifact from an earlier version of the game, it will be removed.

With a name like that, it has got to be good! This is a side-scrolling platformer that I have been working on for a while now. It still needs a couple levels in the last world, and many of the graphics need replacing(Especially the bosses and the menu-bar), but I feel it is almost there. It has 20.5 playable levels, which is a record for me. 4 bosses in 4 worlds. It features both action levels, and puzzle levels. This one is almost done, so can I have some constructive criticism please? Thanks, and enjoy.  Smiley

I know the comp is long over, but here is my LD21 game, Dwarflings. I am deciding whether or not to continue work on it, so, what do you think?

You can pause the simulation with space. I am going to group the buttons, good idea!

Bump! Feedback please!

This is my first post here!
Here is a project I have been working on for a while now!
It is a physics sandbox game where you can build neat stuff using a wide range of tools.

This gives an example of some of the things you can do. (Yes, that is water!)
This is my first post here, so I want serious criticism, not "It's dumb, make guns!"
The game is almost stable, but has some bugs.  Roll Eyes
