This game is so much better than ginormo sword. Ginormo sword doesn't put up a fight like yours does.

Anyway, we decided to go against all the artsy vague "games" and make something retro with shooting

I love you

Amzing. I will definetely be playing this again.
Some of the controls felt a bit sticky, but I wouldn't change anything, you get used to it. The forced abuse of the damsel in distress is pretty funny... I like how you can use her as a weapon.

Also, how did you do the awesome lighting code?
47  Developer / Playtesting / Re: city war: action general on: December 18, 2008, 05:43:30 PM
I thought is was fun. Pretty hectic, and I like how you are just thrust into the action. The BG color wouldn't go back to red, which I liked because it was less obnoxious. I think you should bring up the color picker for that, because it's easy enough. I think you should add blood, and sounds.

Go JW!

Uberleben is a simple party game where you and up to 6 friends must reach the end of an ever denser growing cave. You can play as a team and see who survives, or you can try your luck at punching eachother into the oncoming stalagmites.
If you collect rings or make risky decisions, you get rewarded with a faster moving speed and punching strength.

The game does not have any music, only atmospheric sounds, however I recommend listening to Truth Seekers Radio while playing the game.

Also grab some friends.

New Version 3.0
Now with spin!

I'm rocking the highscores at the moment.
Was pretty fun, loved the music, but would have loved to see more variety in the enemies.
54  Developer / Playtesting / Re: Tumbledrop - now complete and playable! on: October 02, 2008, 05:40:25 PM
I had to beat it, I wouldn't let myself stop playing it until I beat it. real fun.

Though at one time I was able to skip a level because it thought I beat it.
And one time I wasn't able to make a move, so I restarted the level, and it worked. Great game, really cutesy but good fun.
55  Developer / Playtesting / Re: Armed Generator Doom Machine (Shmup) on: September 23, 2008, 09:13:17 AM
Right - so do you think they would be more or less motivated if you now removed power up loss completely?

It just seems obvious to me. Maybe I'm just an idiot.
Well you need to incite fear into people to make them feel more challenged, if there wasn't any extra penalty to making a false move, then you wouldn't be as fearful of the boss. Having the powerful attack makes it much more valuable if you know it can be taken from you.

But then again everyone has a different expectation from the games they play, so I'm not saying that your wrong, this is just why I have the penalty.

Thanks! I'm really honored! Though I totally knew someone with some asian sounding name would get like to lvl 32 or something... Jinnnsuuuuu!

But I'm really glad that I see so many names on the scoreboards!

@Gnarf: That's really odd, I'm not seeing any problems in the code. Are you using Vista?

I love this:

You can argue with the data though. You blaming the game makes sense if it's because the game kills you with invisible bullets hitting your ship's too large bounding box or comes up with an unavoidable pattern of bullets or something. Not so much if it's because the game punishes you for messing up and dying.

You used to lose all your powers when dying, but during playtests people would were less motivated to continue.

The last level rocked. I love this fucking game. It was hard, there were laughs, there were cries... lots of cries. But I beat it, quickly too.

For the almost there level: I took out the body gaurd, shot the guy in white, then the cops came after me spastically shooting at innocent civilians, leaving an open space in the corridor with two cops after me. Then one came over and shot some people, then recieved a bullet to the back of the head by his fellow officer. Upon this moment I ran past the gaurd, ducking behind other civilians who soon met their demise. Then I made it to the exit and drove away with my blonde bombshell. But it's not really a chick.

  • Why is a priest shooting people?
  • Why are they dressed in white?

The priest is gay,
they are high priests, and the ones with body gaurds are popes.
By getting rid of the popes, you can live happily with your man.
