Stumbled across this on twitter: https://twitter.com/Detocroix/status/571751167199457280

Glad to see it's still being worked on after so many years (or resumed after a hiatus?), I love everything about this!  The look and concept are awesome, but the description on the website sold me: http://www.detocroix.com

Yup! It's worked on, I'm just not very good at drumming up interest. There's so much work to do and I don't know what is worth showing and what isn't. I've got a proper coder now and I get to concentrate mainly on design and art so it's definitely going forward faster than before. Cheers! Beer!

I do not. The project is just moving into the second part of phase one. The current 3D rendering artist (character designer) is suppose to be turning in the main character mesh (needed for scale) today, and then we start prototyping the first planet, which I am hopong won't take more than a week. I fully understand your hesitation.

Then I'll have to pass for now. Once you've got some gameplay to show and if you still need me by then, I'll definitely reconsider... but for big projects gameplay is a must to draw me in Smiley

The development is broke down into 7 main phases, and then several sub phases. The phases determined by each planet and then end game. We are in part two of phase one, level prototyping and mesh work assembly. Yes, it is an early stage game, but most of the concept work and game mechanics for the first planet have been finalized. After phase one is complete we will be launching a kickstarter with a playable demo of the first planet to help fun the game, primarily paying all the developers.

Do you have a playable build I could try? Doesn't need to have much, just interested to see how it plays Smiley

I was wondering how strict you are in terms of a small project? I have a development team that I still looking to expand, but my project will take about a year, maybe a year and a half at most. I have more information posted here: http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=44738.0 if you're not interest, or unable to fit my posted requirements I understand; however, if you are I would love to talk more!

It seems to be in fairly early steps thus far or do you have some gameplay etc to show? Obviously it can be extremely rough, I'm just interested how far a long it is or if it's a brand new project. If it is brand new, I would sadly have to decline (too big of a commitment), but if it is further along I could consider bigger time investment Smiley

Current Status: Currently occupied! Smiley(17.12.2014)

Hey!

I'm a 3D artist specializing on anything but animated characters (Characters are bleh, especially humanoids) looking for a programmer (Unity or Unreal) to do some cool small projects with. I'd like to cook up something in a month's time, something nice and tasty and preferably in 3D (if idea warrants it, 2D is fine too).

My portfolio www.detocroix.com/Artist

So, are you decently experienced programmer who wants to do some small game in Unity or Unreal and are interested in stuff I do? Drop me a message here or send mail to contact Wizard detocroix.com

New screenshots!

It has taken quite some time to rework the whole setup again from ground up. The reason being the original tile system was too expensive and heavy, the wide terrain system was insanely expensive... I also didn't like the way they looked. Now, finally after starting the project, I'm content with it.

Most of the main functions are finished, still missing inventory and combat engine needs reworking (because it's a bit boring at the moment), but conversations, examination, night day cycle, map, etc are working and good to go Smiley

I also have a proper website now if you wish to go and take a look at random stuff I've done (or still doing). www.detocroix.com

so how are the works going? think you could release some demo? people are waiting in anticipation.

Quite well. Many of the basic systems are now made, proper content creation cycle getting really close Smiley

Glad to see the project isn't dead! I was getting a bit worried...

Nah, nothing to worry about. It's just that I don't feel like posting same screens over and over when there's nothing big changed visually Smiley

Add width=700 to the the IMG tag, like:

that.

That map and little Knightwasher is awesome.

Oooh! Thank you Smiley

Thanks for the comments, folks! Smiley

Little update (thankfully with screens too)

Scythe Bearer's Realm, Westwood fragment. Basically the zone is fragments of various locations in the game, you can visit some dead washers there... and Death himself too obiviously, though he probably ain't too keen on chatting with Knightwasher Smiley

Map of the Westwood area. Not much content in yet, but I'm very happy with the visual style (after redoing everything 6 times)

Is there any way to "forcefully" resize the images to forum friendlier quickview size?

Time, need more of that. Controls are remade and terrain is remade. And hopefully I won't have many "silent grinds" in the next few months! Smiley

Legend of the Knightwasher is also by someone who visits TIGSource. I'm not that active though, so I'm not sure I qualify enough  Wizard

DEERFEAST TRIBE

Yes! Finished Ludum Dare (And actually took part in it too! Always forget). 8-9 stages of deer evolution.. and all shooting.

Sadly I can't make web build even though I'm using Unity. I forgot 4.0 beta doesn't build for the public webplayer. So, windows standalone for now Smiley

Shocked

Them eyes! They'll pop any minute now!

This is one of the most hilarious things I've seen in a while. Bravo.

Thank thee, Hero of Justice, thou hast saved the day!

I couldn't stop giggling through the axe jumping video.
Damn this looks gorgeous, from the screens I had figured that the environment must have been pre-rendered.

Pre-rendered? Oh noe! Well it could have been, but thank (everything) it is not Smiley

HOW CAN DISHWASHERS BE THIS ADORABLE.

Because they aren't dishwashers.

What was that hiding in the bushes near the end of the first video?

Yup, they are washing machines, not dishwashers :D

Oh, he was a scared peasant Smiley

Bunch of stuff changed, at least regarding to videos. All the candy is in. Weapons, inventory, axing wildly!

Say, just wondering... are these guys the enemy in this game?

Unlikely, perhaps for a different race though. But these guys WILL be!

Might be a good idea to check the high resolution image behind the link below the tiny one. I don't want to break the forum formatting, so the pics are scaled tiny.

Lots have changed, but not massive in terms of visual looks. Slightly spoilerish (I guess) map layouting http://i.imgur.com/IRJlP.jpg, that's about half of the first zone. Yeah there's almost the same curve twice with the shoreline, oops :D

I have to get someone to check my writings at some point in the future. Doesn't matter much now, but I want to get rid of all the ridiculous writing habits I accidentally put in.
