You should see it as a nod to some of the famous western movies like "Once upon a time in the west" which is full of shots like this:

(I want to expermint with adding some of this into the game)

And as mentioned: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CinemaScope

In my case, I felt it would enhance the feeling of distance between the characters and give me room to lay out a nice backdrop + the genre nod.

Also, I'm not sure if this is a popular change but I felt like I had to shift the colors closer to the grading in the movies:

You are right. I'll try to move away from it more.

Hi everyone,

I've recently transitioned from a full-time position into the land of indie development. Things are fresh and I haven't even settled on a company name or anything but I figured, what better way to start off than by flexing the old GameDev muscle and wrestle out a game. I've worked on this for about two full days and i'm planning to wrap it up in under 5.

Up front shout-out to egoitzOsa for inspiring me with his game: The Wild West
(I borrowed the format but the game will be totally different.)

So, This is the game:
THIRTY BANDITS
formerly: Get Ready, Duel!

It's basically what the title suggests, a game in which you fight pistol duels. It's about controlling your nerves and quick reflexes. Please understand that I'm aiming to finish this in under 5 days so the idea and scope are purposely very limited. I'm using Unity3D for this.

Hi everyone,

This was my first LD, had lots of fun but also worked like crazy  Durr...?

I will definitely check out the games in this thread and I'd love it if you'd check out my game:

A game about evolving a mysterious facetted "thing". Change his colors and behaviors by bringing the brightly colored meteors that fall from the sky to the altars. Surely it is susceptible to such generosity.

It's up to you to bend this "thing" to your will with the power of evolution!

What sort of screenshot am I looking at though? Is the editor running on the phone or is it more of a composition?

Hi all,

I'm a long time lurker, graduated technical artist and professional game maker at a studio. I hope to be starting a devlog soon for a very small fun personal project.
