Radiant Historia
-I'm loving it man, it's like a classic 90s JRPG.  I finished it, I'm just working on that secret extra boss now.

I've been playing this too, it's pretty awesome.
Also on DS, Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword. I wasn't expecting much, but I was quite impressed. On the fifth chapter right now.

On PC, I just played a couple rounds of Masjin, the versus compo game.

It took me a couple tries to finish, but I loved the atmosphere and the transition between above water and below water, something that few first person games seem to get right.

Gah, that storyboard looks amazing.

Sandman Slim: Interesting ideas, and a nice twist on the normal urban fantasy stuff.

Oryx and Crake: About halfway through, and it's interesting so far. Sort of a post apocalyptic story, with lots of flashbacks to pre-apocalypse times.

Catcher in the Rye: Read the first six or so chapters, and I'm finding the main character to be annoying as fuck.

This looks awesome, and I love the sound effects. Looking forward to seeing some more elaborate levels.

Whoah

Metal Gear Solid 2 I actually enjoyed the totally screwy story the first time I played it, and the gameplay was great, especially the level of detail in being able to shoot things like birds and have them die. In that time that sort of thing was pretty much unheard of.

Metal Gear Solid 3 For greatly improving on number 2. I really loved the story, especially the ending. The gameplay was also pretty swell.

Persona 3 Cool RPG

Silent Hill 2 Atmosphere is cool and stuff

Awesome games I haven't played on PS2 but are available on the system: Okami, Soul Calibur 2, Resident Evil 4

This was incredibly awesome and inspiring. I loved the art.

Unfortunately, I somehow got to this screen, and everything started buggging out. I could kind of drift to the right by mashing arrow keys.

My only other complaint is that those things that shoot spores are pretty hard to dodge because of the floaty controls.
129  Player / Games / Re: Making a big independent game on: March 13, 2011, 05:29:33 AM
there are plenty of big AAA style indie games. especially on ModDB or IndieDB

Examples:
Interstellar Marines http://www.interstellarmarines.com/
The Ball http://www.theballthegame.com/
Amnesia: The Dark Descent http://www.amnesiagame.com/

Pretty cool! I thought the environments and most of the enemies looked great, although I agree that the main character animations were a little off. I think a lot of the visual effects looked great, especially stuff like the water and the door opening animations. I wasn't a big fan of the explosions though.

One other thing; I think the typewriter style text on the options screen that appears when you highlight an option should appear much more quickly, so that you don't have to wait for it to fill out when you read it. And on a related note, I'm not sure why the data logs are turned off by default, I thought they added quite a bit to the game.

Finally got to play this with someone else, and it's awesome. There's so much strategy in perfectly launching off a wall and tossing a grenade at the perfect angle to bounce off two walls so that you can shoot it and have it explode and kill the other player.

Yep, the sequel to the Name of the Wind (AKA the only fantasy book equal in awesomeness to a Song of Ice and Fire)

I think the weirdest one has to be when you translate “Will Justin Bieber ever hit puberty” from English to Vietnamese and then back to English.
This made me laugh.

Looks beautiful!

In a fairly abstract platformer, I like jobs like those in Knytt, where you have full control over your movement in air, and there is very little inertia. Sure it isn't realistic, but it's a lot more forgiving and adds  to the exploratory aspect of the game because you don't have to worry about making every single jump perfect.

Lost my keys.  That's okay I'll just go to Start-> Search...

...Fuck.

Whenever I'm looking up a quote in a book I always try and press ctrl-f first.

Ahah, I knew it would be that!

Loved the visual effects, and racing mode was pretty cool. Arena mode could have used something to spice it up, like powerups or something. Come to think of it, racing mode could use that too. At least pads that make you speed up, and maybe some unguarded sections of track you could fall off of.

But other then that, great job!

Wow, this is awesome. I love the Ender's Games influence.

My only question is how you can tell whether you will use your sword or your gun when you press the shoot button? It seems kind of random at the moment.

Just wanted to chime in and say I really enjoyed the time I spent playing this game, and I hope you keep working on it. It would be a shame to let such a great start go to waste.
