Developer / Audio / Re: How do developers find composers?

For indie games I imagine receiving royalties is few and far between. From interviews I have read from various well known indie composers, they end up getting the bulk of their income from album sales for successful indie games. Rather than royalties or flat rates.
just my 2 cents on this. in my experience, soundtrack sales never amount to anywhere near what you're paid for to make the music (I know you said well known indie composers in the post but it implies that that's what people should try & rely on). You only really have a chance of making reliable money if the game is wildly popular. Outside of minecraft/fez/super meat boy, i wouldn't be confident saying that even well known indie composers make most of their money through OST sales. In my experience, the thing that helps massively is being including in some kind of bundle (specifically, Game Music Bundle)! I don't have much experience of royalties at all so I can't really say how much that'll help. It seems that most of the ways that inexperienced game devs can afford to pay you a reasonable amount is through sponsorship or perhaps a successful kickstarter - at least that's what i notice as trends for games I see more successful composers work on. And then beyond those are established devs who can rely on the sales of previous games to pay you.
