Hey Fark!

I found Nattrangel pretty enjoyable! Huset was a highlight for me - pretty playful stuff.

It's all got a great blend of orchestral/european folk/subtle electronics! It's a really nice sound and you do some really lovely stuff with it. I also enjoyed some of the titles (Please Bite, Mr. Fish!). Although, i didn't feel like please bite was tense enough and thank you for biting was celebratory enough! Smiley haha maybe I created a false story in my head though.

What was your set-up for producing these pieces? Live/non-live? Any particular sample libraries?

thanks kitheif!
Got another one http://soundcloud.com/calumbowen/looking-out-my-window
I was going for a nujabes/samurai champloo OST kinda sound - jazz-ish hip-hop instrumental kinda thing.

VN Project was cancelled due to inactivity of other contributors! It went on for a very long time. It's sad when such things happen but I was glad to have made this music. Thank you for the complements mega! Haha, well the titles were made up by the director of the project so perhaps I wasn't saying something but something was being said by someone.

I am finding your screening process a little confusing. Please contact me (PM here or email [email protected]) if you wish me to make a specific request for new music or to use any of the samples I have sent you.

I await your response.

Good luck with your search.

PM'd you Mega.
Hope you can find what you're looking for.

I'm mostly using logic pro 9 with EWQL and a surprising amount of free soundfonts or recording with a lonely sm57. Trying to get back into using some of logic's own instruments, i've kind of ignored them for ages! I'm sure there's some untapped brilliance to be found there.

thanks swordofkings. Your limiter test (though i wasn't really concentrating on what the limiter was doing) seemed promising as hell - sweet violin line and chords.

I know that in sci-fi film music atonality is often used to represent aliens/space - so it may appear in some space games. Other than that, I can't think of anywhere else where atonality may be appropriate - i'm sure it appears to some extent but as a purposeful device, who knows. I'd be interested to hear it.
Maybe like something hectic or big crash scene or something might have some atonality.
415  Developer / Audio / my first VG soundtrack release on: December 16, 2011, 05:42:45 PM
I recently wrote music for a visual novel which unfortunately got cancelled - fortunately though I was able to release the music (effectively for free).
I made a lot of progress musically during the course of this album and put a lot of time into it - I hope you will enjoy it.
Any feedback or critique is more than welcome.

Nowadays, when more and more triple-A game soundtracks are made up of a guitar chugging on one power chord *cough* Call of Duty *cough-cough* and other senseless filler, I think it's important for game devs to employ musicians that are passionate about the music they write.

Me and you both! It's games trying to be films and game composers trying to be film composers making "inaudible" music.
